This is my beater bike for city commuting, with the minimal gear for winter riding (that is, only a studded tyre in the front). It’s a 50 dollars bike, but doesn’t mean I don’t have a nice/more legit one.
My tires are 700*35C studded/slick tires, and brakes are rim brakes. Today I felt that it is getting harder to stop the bike, probably because the brake pads are all covered by snow and ice. It also feels hard to control on the snow covered roads, cause the tires are too narrow. So I’m thinking it’s time for me to use my nice hardtail MTB tomorrow.
