I set out to convert my brand new wheelset and tires to tubeless. On the first wheel I set up, the tubeless sealant bled through the tire sidewall. The tire is holding its pressure for now. Is it normal to see this kind of bleed through when setting up a brand new tire for tubeless?

Pretty normal for a lot of tires.
It should subside in short order.
Personally found orangeseal endurance is best for leaky sidewalls- it’s a bit thinner than most.
