Going SS on my 2017 kona big kahuna, which has this hanger on it. When attaching the surly singleator tensioner and using an 18mm cone wrench to preload the spring (push down is the only config. that works for my minimum chain length and frame combo), the wrench will only turn so far before hitting the part of the hanger that juts out for the thru axle. Can’t turn the wrench past this point, so I can’t get enough tension on it for the chain not to skip. Besides removing material from the wrench (I’m close), are there any other obvious solutions/has anyone been in this situation before? I called surly and they didn’t have a good solution…seems like such a silly conundrum

Try a regular wrench or do it off bike.
