Hello and welcome to the channel Bicycling by Bike. In this video I will be showing the National Cycle Network Route 90 from Brighton to Lewes. The route as a whole continues onwards to Polegate, and I have uploaded the section from Lewes to Polegate in my previous video.

Let’s start this video by looking briefly at the map. I join route 90 in Brighton at the gyratory here and continue north-east up to Lewes. We will see on Lewes Road in Brighton: cycle lanes with floating bus stops.

The installation of these bus stops, the introduction of the bus lanes and the widening of the pre-existing cycle lanes completed in September 2013. We will then see shared cycle and pedestrian paths on the approach to and through the University of Sussex.

After Falmer we join a shared path running along the north side of the A27 all the way to the outskirts of Lewes, whereupon one must join the main roadway through Lewes. I will finish my route at Lewes High Street.

This shared path did have some work done in 2023 to remove vegetation that was encroaching on the path and narrowing it. That surmises the route. Without further ado let us get into it.

Share.
