Basically title. There pictures aren’t great but for so cheap it seems like I can’t go wrong. I’m just looking for a bike for short-distance commutes.

Looks like it has an aluminum frame 🙂
It may have been $300 new so $50 is a good price if it fits you, it’s in good working condition and you need a basic inexpensive bike for a short commute, riding around town or some basic trails.
A mountain bike with 27.5” or 29” wheels are more desirable which makes inexpensive or even higher end 26” wheel mountain bike prices low.
Or look for a 700c wheel size hybrid / commuter / fitness bike with a rigid fork if you won’t ever be riding off road.
However for $50 the 26” mountain bike will be fine for a short commute for a great price and a low sunk cost if you lock it up outside and it ever gets stolen.
