Stainless steel chain, tensioned with stainless steel metal zip ties.
– get stainless chain and metal zip ties
-measure how much chain will cover the rubber of your tire without biting the rim.
-hold chain to Prefered section of tread
-loop the zip tie through the two ends of the chain and pull tight with tires, then crimp the zip tie so it can’t back out

I’m just putting them on for the year now, I did this last year, keep the short chain segments and then just replace the zip ties, use a wire cutter to remove old zip ties.
Nice idea! … is it pretty reliable or do you have to tinker with it from time to time?
I dunno, if those break it will almost certainly foul up/seize up the wheel resulting in bad things. Be careful.
… do not attempt with rim breaks.
My friends with fixies used to use zip ties in the winter. I have rim-brakes, so…
Wouldn’t studded tires work better, with less risk and fewer complications?
