Hello, this is my new Marlin 8 gen 3. I know this isn’t the most common choose when it’s about bikepacking. But with my budget I couldn’t find any gravel. I choose a mtb because it could allow me to go through any kind of soil. Since I’m not sure about my next adventure. But I feel like these tyres make it too slow. Any advice? With what could I change it to make it faster on the asphalt?

smoother, skinnier tire will help on asphalt.
I was shopping this bike but coming from track/road bikes, it is cumbersome and slow on pavement. I did ride a competing bike with smoother, skinnier tires that felt better on the road (giant talon).
If you’re on a medium or larger, check these out….

Stock tires are 2.4, the size options of the mezcal are 2.25, 2.35, and 2.6. The first two are right up your alley.
Put a drop bar on it
A bike is a bike, im sure you could cycle all the places you want to go enjoy your adventures.
I have a tourer and a cheap hybrid and im sure I could do all the same cycling on the hybrid over the tourer would it be as suitable? maybe not but it doesn’t matter its still doable.
