First day of using the Specialized Align 2 helmet I bought. Stopped the bike with the kickstand on some grass and hung the helmet on the handlebars with the straps, to greet a friend. The bike fell over because the grass was not hard enough to support the weight from the kickstand. Bike fell over the helmet, not directly crushing it, but kind of shoving it to the side. The handlebar / bar end made two small “bruises” on the helmet exterior.
Sent it back to the store to see about replacement or crash replacement discounts. The store recorded this video and sent it to Specialized, who said this is only cosmetic damage and won’t affect the helmets performance in case of an accident. What do you think?
