Today we are going to present to you a quite incredible vehicle, a Land Rover Defender equipped with a t-shirt cell, so it’s not our vehicle, it’s that of Salus and the 4 of us, a family with two children who are getting ready to leave traveling in South America so what

Vehicle is it then it’s a Land Rover Defender so it’s a 130 because in fact the 130 it has a double cabin and the beautiful one where we were looking for really that as a vehicle because in fact we

Really wanted a 44 with a real car capacity for children and not and not a small bench in the back and after the Defender B it is one which has the largest capacity of Ben or to

Put one of the biggest cells that it is it’s rare that for me it’s the first time that I see I think a a a defender like that with the ben like a pickup it’s It’s true that those who bought this are really utility vehicles, craftsmen to transport quite

Heavy things, all that and it’s not common in France in any case, yeah it’s quite rare in France afterward in terms of motorization so there is full of engines depending on the years I wanted a recent model with the bump here with the more powerful engine and above all in fact here

We have a small detachment to show that it has air conditioning we wanted air conditioning so that’s the small details for Land Rover professionals and then I think it’s a Ford 2 L 2 or a 2

L 3 engine and it’s 124 horsepower and how much do you consume on average and in terms of consumption so without the cell we’re going to be sure between 13 and 15 L 100 it all depends on driving and then with the

Cell we are often between 15 and 18 l 100 Ah yeah that it still consumes so it consumes a little bit after it has the tank that we has 90 l of fuel and we do almost 600 600

Km with a full tank you put some little Offroad things also I see there are for the style I don’t think I’ll get in the water up to the cape and then after VO the mud flaps that’s the mud flaps it’s

Obligatory otherwise all the doors are repainted each time afterwards in terms of preparation it has reinforced rear suspensions it has air cushions at the rear so the shock absorbers are mounted on pneumatics in addition to the reinforced springs the stabilizer bar reinforced

At the rear also the rims are reinforced the tires are reinforced the brakes are also a little bigger than the original ones and there is high performance brake fluid to prevent it gets heated because you also have a particularity which is that you are leaving with two

Children and that’s it so you still need space in two still big children like and 8 and 7 we start again there you have the right to start again for example in F each time

The children but on the other hand how old is the vehicle the read 2013 ah that’s simple so our particularity as you say so well is that we are traveling with two children it ‘that’s why we

Really wanted a 44 with a real living area in the back so that the children could be like in a car so it’s a vehicle that is very easy to drive, let’s say atypical and rusticates the words’ is atypical and rustic yeah I was always told that deffender was good but on the

Other hand it’s sure that it’s not the same comfort that you shouldn’t expect from a car in fact yeah you really should expect a 44 we will say English military the particularity is that we really have the clutch normally which is in place of the footrest so you have to know that

And be careful the same when you ride you will tend to have the shoulder very close to the edge OK or there it is, these are little things to know after that we drove for 8 years in a

Volkswagen combi and already got used to it a little here for us it’s modern ok ok because of that suddenly when you say rustic it means that inside it makes noise it hits it makes noise it

Hits and the slightest imperfection on the road we will feel it it takes time it brakes that’s it as soon as we brake it y AA a cash movement it’s it’s special ok the direction it’s not

Assisted there is no ABS so when you brake it can block the wheels so you have to know that it is a rustic vehicle and the 44 is a permanent 44 or it is no you can be in two-wheel drive and four driving wheels when you want you can change then the

Defender since it is a military vehicle at the base really the bottom base is a military vehicle so the particularity is that it has a real scale chassis this which is no longer done today and in terms of four-wheel drive we are on a permanent 44 okay yeah it’s permanent

Yeah so then there is everything that is a long box short self-locking box since it is a vehicle English the hood is opened from the other side ah that’s the part madam for her yes madam right her little step it’s considered a real tractor it’s it’s made

To pull or carry tractors big loads everything weighs how much in total 3 tones 380 ok so we are on a cell t-shirt 260 RH so in fact the magpie of this cell is that it has it is much wider and much higher than the classic t-shirt cells because it

Is tailor-made for the Defender ah yes we won’t be able to put this cell on another 44 and therefore this cell you can place it like ours so yeah the advantage in fact is where the question was between a camper van and a 44 cell is that if we find a campsite or

A place to be able to settle down and perhaps stay a week or two we still want to be able to play around with the vehicle so the compromise was that and then for the cell

It is installed and removed in around 45 minutes it is done quite easily and quickly so the feet are integrated into the cell we just have to put them there after there is an endless screw so the

Feet go down to the ground there is a second one which is integrated behind here so the same with a crank or a drill it is a screw without hunger after the feet come to press on the

Ground it will raise the cell and then we has just moved the vehicle forward you just have to be careful that inside there is a trailer socket and the attachments here there is everything that is

Filling with water electricity gas you have a tank of how much water do we have a tank of 90 L and so when you are going to leave you stay on the solar panel step or you still hesitate

A little uh no after that we do well like that in fact in terms of electricity consumption we only have lighting yeah yeah you don’t have much or and maybe the electric pump for the water that’s all you there you have that what is ah ah that’s jealousy by cont yeah yeah

So here we have the the outdoor shower uh hot water cold water but you really have everything so and that’s really appreciable yeah it’s how much your water tank is 60 L 60 L yeah everything that has a rear part here we have removable ramps to be able to hang

Objects to put a bicycle P or imagine yeah that’s it it’s the chemical toilet yeah hop are there the things oh but they are how come it’s so deep it’s big your cassette is big or ah yeah d’ okay

You yeah you have bigger 400 l you can you can go there you can r in Norway what’s magical is that you have a machine in fact there are boxes like that in fact you put your cassette

In you press a button and they take the cassette they open the flap it cleans everything inside yeah it empties it and comes out little strawberry scent you say to yourself we don’t hope for that much in

South America South America you’re going to dig your hole and you’ll empty it when you can, you’ll drain it when you can and what they also have really good is that they have the two windows here

To make the air current and everything it’s really too good and so your gas bottle it’s there ah yes okay so we have two gas bottles one of yeah we don’t really count the gas it’s

True that we live we live the thing with it’s a comfort that we didn’t have at all before with the combi so for us it’s a real luxury so we want to use it yes no of course s hop and so

The inside you have like us the door so there here the little trash can which is really practical in fact we really use it yes it’s so good and you have a window too it’s cool to have like that if someone ‘a to to see us yeah it still seems bigger than

Ours for example at the bottom landing I measure 1.70 and we really have a kind of height because I don’t even touch the ceiling and I see that you have quite a few windows too because you

Have the windows there you have the window in addition to us over there you have the skylight there but in fact you even have another one here in fact you have a lot of light coming in through the window

Which is from the door plus in the toilets also unterno yeah so we really have a lot of light the advantage is that we can really live there qu yeah uh we have already done the test

In Norway for 3 weeks and 4 that we live well there we can do the homework it’s really a bit of our fear on the travel vehicle is that if we find ourselves in a place where it rains

And we have to stay in the cell during or in the camper van for perhaps weeks in the rain the advantage of the cell is that we can really have a rotating living space we have a sleeping space which is really separate to make the children’s bed by just example of unclipping

Here take the table place it on the two cleats that there are here slide the foams and that’s it yeah so the bed is made very quickly quickly there the bed we have a 140 bed so we

Have really a bed like at home that you there if you go in the bed you can really sit down there is the space we will say for really the space we don’t have the impression of having the the ceiling which

Here we are c it’s sitting and still good oh you’re going to be jealous there you even have small storage spaces on both sides of the bed so cupboards like that there is one on this side

There is one on the ‘other side also that’s it so there is still one everything that is bowl and there the famous and there you have a large wardrobe and you can really put a lot of things

When that’s great bug after there we still have here hop the little covered drawer we even have mini cupboards here for everything toilet paper trash bag a small cupboard underneath too yeah and how many lights do you have there so we have hop three lights ah there are three fires bug and

Then to finish in the kitchen you have a fridge but which seems much bigger than ours it is huge it is big I think it is one of the largest fridge capacities what it is it on gas gas al triix gas electricity when you are plugged outside and

On the other hand when you are driving it goes with the car engine yeah yeah that’s it or ENF it goes on the vehicle’s electricity and below the fridge you all that’s going to be a cupboard

So here at the top it’s a trauma and the heating trauma ok the hot it it it comes out where in the trauma it’s where it’s they put vents there a nozzle underneath so the foot the feet you have

Warm feet ah yes okay there there is everything underneath there there is yeah that’s it around the bed there is a large sheath which is pre-drilled all the way to that the heat escapes all around the bed frankly we had temperatures – 10 really it really froze yeah and we didn’t feel

Cold we were really good yeah it’s never full in any case of avir cold in this cell the t-shir is very well insulated wow and behind you you still have a bit of a wardrobe oh there there oh there

They have a wardrobe too and there the white thing is what is it is the access to the bin do the back bin and the front bin you see there is already space here so there we put everything that

Has to do with skiing for example when we go skiing we put everything that is a bottle of water chips some dough here we put our food and we have great access we have a large trunk in fact

Yeah yeah and that’s also where we can touch ACC or there we have the hook over there on the right we have the hook to put the straps and your whole system the electrical system yeah

And below here in fact ok okay here we have the water tank yeah that’s it you have the water tank and the electric transp and everything here uh in fact they have centered the heaviest of the weight

Yeah here so as not to weaken it in makes the door to the cell behind and under my feet that’s the same it’s an option the formwork here because there we have a spare wheel ah yes okay ok it’s really placed under the thing that’s it It’s also good, it’s practical and the

Last room is a bit of a hassle to film like that cell videos it’s complicated in fact the space but there’s not too much space either in the bathroom part bathroom which is quite large in any case quite high it’s practical Mo when I get in the shower I

Don’t touch the ceiling everywhere it’s nice to avoid wetting the door we have the little curtain which put here inside we have an evacuation which goes into the gray waterci we have hop the sink part which then we shift hop we lift ah yeah you can remove your sink what that and

We don’t suddenly you yeah so it’s done well and we have two heating buses uh which means that in winter for example we put everything that is to be skied here ok for that since there is a

Water evacuation and the heating draws very hard at C here OK or okay here it’s all your there you manage everything with this heating also it’s the Panau controls so here we have the exterior temperature interior temperature here it’s the battery of the cell and here it ‘is our clean water capacity

And here is the gray water capacity and that’s what it is just the lights it’s yeah the whole light control panel hop so after that it’s true that or you can turn on there are lights everywhere, lots of little lights everywhere and everything is LED despite the fact that the cell

Is from 2015 everything is already LED OK and that’s the little Truma setting or there it is newer than ours he damn can adjust everything that is hot water heating we even have ventilation you can just put in ventilation mode we don’t put the heating on we just put a ventilation mode

That if for example in the morning we have a little Buet where the humidity in the cell with wet clothes we can put in ventilation that’s quite practical yeah even when it’s very hot in the absence of air conditioning there is still ventilation is that there is something else

Where you have already said to yourself that it’s boring I would have done it differently no I don’t see after that maybe play on the weight because we feel that it’s heavy yeah uh after that in fact it’s complicated because it’s true that basically I really wanted a cell that was foldable

So that we didn’t have any missteps that it was very bulky because it it’s true that in the video you will see the cell is enormous and it is enormous but well in comparison we have a comfortable life inside it is super well insulated all those who have cells with the

Removable roof obviously obviously it’s fabric or tarpaulin we lose insulation in insulation so there you go in fact it’s it’s compromises to make it’s choices come on rine you discover the cell so what is that who what is what is different from ours there a little everything finally everything

Is the same but at the same time everything is different everything is bigger already don’t worry ah yeah after that there are four yes of course but suddenly that’s it ‘is good it’s for four no after as a default what would you say about the cell as I would say it is voluminous

But we wanted it because really space of VI the height the height the height we are still 3 M15 high so we don’t go everywhere in fact we are all vigilant on the panels because that won’t forgive in fact afterwards I didn’t want to look for difficulty either yes

That’s it anyway it’s a vehicle it’s a 44 vehicle but it’s not for crossing like those who just have a 44 it’s afterward you have to buy that in fact like saying where the day when we land in a field there is mud there is more and we have to move

And that’s it’s complicated there the vehicle will be used for that yeah but someone who wants to cross go in the forest to stand on a hill no it’s not made for that or you have to go down the cell that’s the advantage too and that’s why we took

That we went realized with the combi the combi is a propulsion it has no power so sometimes on climbs with a little gravel in fact you can’t climb yeah and it was complicated there were spots you just had to climb a small but it was there and with the combi we

Found ourselves sometimes in trouble so that’s why I say to myself no if I have to buy a camper van or a converted vehicle I want a four-wheel drive and then the wire in needle after seeing Mercedes motorhomes

Sprinting things like that which are for me too expensive for what it is uh we passed on that and that you can say how much you have the whole with the modifications that

You were able to do and all that it cost how much in doggie no well we bought it a year and a half a year and a half ago 2 years a year and a half a year and a half ago uh we bought it for €60,000 the whole yes

The whole yeah it’s a vehicle which was delivered in France uh new and it has always remained in France there is manufacturer maintenance at Land Rover every year when we got it it had 80,000 km so it’s really very few km yeah so that’s why there’s the 60,000 € it’s a huge cost

Especially for an adventure vehicle but here the Defender itself is already worth the money or it’s pr morning it’s almost already collected yes it’s an investment we’re going to say here today it has 100,000 km the vehicle here tomorrow I know we can sell it without problem but at least

We’re not there we’re already going to benefit with it already you have to leave yeah yeah if you want to have more information on how they are preparing for this big trip we interviewed them we asked them lots of questions the video will be released next week so don’t forget
