I got a new Trek Marlin 7 Gen 3 today and I’m noticing the chain getting slipped between rim and casette whenever I switch to first gear. I can also replicate this issue by putting the bike on stand and changing the gear while pedaling manually. My finger got hurt while fixing the chain 😐 It would be a great help if someone can share a link of video to fix it. I’ve all the toolkit. But no technical knowledge about the gear system 😔

Sounds like you need to adjust your limit screw on your derailleur. There are a bunch of YouTube videos out there for this

~~If it’s new I’d march it straight back to the shop I purchased from, raise hell and make them adjust it correctly~~. On second thought, I’d fix it myself. Any shop that lets a new bike out the door without doing the bare essential assembly adjustments shouldn’t be trusted to ever touch the bike again. I’d also go through all the fasteners on the bike and make sure everything is all nice and snug. If they didn’t adjust the derailleur they probably didn’t check anything else.
Take it back to the shop you bought it from. This is definitely something they should have run through when they assembled it. This is absolutely the bare minimum that the shifting is adjusted correctly.
Mistakes however do happen, ask them to fix it for you.
