Hello and welcome back to empowered people we’re now into 2024 so I wish you a happy New Year and let’s hope that it will be as good as last year’s events last year’s events was our 10th year so it was our 10th year anniversary and we put three large
Events on we did Kracken cotswalds we did mik’s Magic and we did the freedom ride up at Brick House um all the rides were superb it really did test them whe were Riders on endurance and distance but everybody really enjoyed it and it made a marvelous statement for the charity um this year
Though we’re going to concentrate on six social one day rides starting from April and they will run round our region on a weekend or a Friday small 20 to 30 mile rides and then at the end of the year we’re going to do our big fully
Supported ride up at Kea staying at the Calver trust and that’s promising to be a fantastic event so um next week we will have the events on our website so please go and see our website and you’ll get the leads to everything that’s going on there the projects that we’ve got on
We’re in a quiet time now because we’re going to get all of our projects done before we start in April time so as you probably look around you could see that uh we are a bit tight on space down at the Empire people Hub and uh the big
Project what we’re going to work on is we’re expanding our steage so uh we’ll have a much bigger area for bike storage and then underneath uh we can have more area to work on the bikes as well so that’s going to be started probably about February time and that’s going to really
Make a massive difference and there’s a lot of people helping and supporting us um if we go to the side here we are blessed with a lot of help and support and uh David Wilson who’s got M&D on the last ride we realized and I think he
Realized that his bike is using uh needs to be changed and the way we go about doing the supported ride for him so luckily enough we got um approached by a lady over in Halifax who offered us a tra bike and uh the trsh show bike is
Inside of here it may not look anything at the moment because we’ve took the seating pod off but we’ve been kindly uh given a seat by a motor drive over in Leland we’re making a competition racing seat which will fit at the front of the tra here the seat will sit there
And that will hold David and Helen will be steering from behind so that’s going to be a brilliant piece of equipment um we’re doing a lot more modifications and changes um we’ve got Bob back with us Bob is Glenn’s bike and I think this is the fourth time it’s being refered now
So she’s just worn this one out again completely so this is having a new motor new battery system new wiring system onto it so that’s another project which we’re doing for glenis um and um we got given a bik which we call the Beast and the Beast was grahams and grams was our
One of our trustees and unfortunately we lost grain last year through to cancer um and his bite came to us and we wanted to keep the beast but this has two mortors one in the back wheel one in the front wheel uh and we think it’s a bit
Too much for a rider to take it out so this is being stripped down and it will just have the one motor on the back wheel but this is now being changed and altered so it’s a stock bike uh we’ve got a lot more stock bikes and more
