Who would win a bike race between a BMX, MTB, road and track cyclist? Manon headed down to Castle Combe and organised a series of bike races between some of the nation’s top cyclists, to see which cycling discipline would come out victorious.

This is mountain biker versus Road versus track versus BMX rider oh this is going to be a good one in three 2 1 go they are so fast oh it’s close it’s close it’s going to be literally on the line who would win in a series of drag

Races between a road Rider a track cyclist a mountain biker and a bmxer well in this video we’re going to find out so we got five races lined up for our Riders first off they’re going to start with a very short 25 M race then a

50 m then a 200 M 500 M and a whole kilometer there’s also going to be points on the line for the Riders so four points for the winner and just one point for last place so that’s the races let me introduce you to to the Riders I’ve gathered the finest athletes

In the country from a whole host of different disciplines we’ve got our BMX racer highly trained Sprint athletes nerves of Steel quick reaction can spin their legs pretty quick this is Betsy back she’s a two-time world champion and a six-time national champion she’s going to be

Riding 20in Wheels one gear and a very low saddle we’ve got our track Sprinter strong and powerful for about 20 seconds but track is all about speed and tactics Brian Edmonds is a British and European Champion as well as a commonwealth games medalist she’ll be on board a fixed gear

Track bike no brakes and just one gear we’ve got our road Rider outstanding endurance Punchy powerful and great ability to read the race Josie Nelson is a British national champion she raced the Tor France Farm a Swift and she’s just signed for the world tour team DSM she’ll be on a road

Bike with lots of Gears skinny Tires and Brakes not that they she’ll be using them much today and finally our mountain biker great endurance great bike handling off-road and can shred like no tomorrow Tracy M is a legend in the world of M viiking with more wins than we can list

Including 16 downhill World Cup wins and 15 World Enduro victories she’ll be riding her full suspension mountain bike but she will be locking it out today with some chunky Mountain Mike ties and a great range of Gears the race I think I’m most likely

To win is a 25 M because um it’s what it replicates on the track a fast star and get going fast uh I think maybe the 200 M cuz it’s like the most similar to the kind of distance I’ll actually ride so feel like might have a bit of an

Advantage I think the race I’m most likely to win is the longest the 1 km not sure I’m likely to win any race today to be honest but I’m guessing possibly the shorter one so probably the 25 M or 50 I would think it’s probably my best shot I would imagine that’s our

Bike and Riders let’s get on with the race right are we all ready take that as a yes flag boy you ready in three 2 1 Go so analyze the footage the winner was bmxer so four points to bmxa Road Three Points mountain bike two track one right second race a whole 50 m in three 2 one Go Oh so second race done and it was exactly the same result as the first one so another four points to the bmxer but can she hold the lead in the overall let’s find out we’re going to out in the distance now a whole 200 M let’s do it in 3 2 one

Go left NE they are so fast oh I don’t know who got that I I feel like Betsy is doing so much better than I thought on like the longer distance this is so good soan you got that one how was it for you uh yeah it was all right I the

Road Rider got a really big gap at the start cuz it can start in a smaller gear but then managed to reel them in in the end so that was cool and what about this next one 500 M I think it might be a bit far I’m a bit tired

Now so jie you’ve been up there in quite a few of them that one was quite close on the line jock and you’ve got this next one in the bag um yeah I mean like uh like ran said she’s getting a bit tired so I think I might have the next

One one way to find out so next up is 500 M and this is actually the same as two laps of a vome so let’s see if Ranka get another win in the bag are we ready in three 2 1 go Betsy is flying every time it’s neck and neck between Road Track and mountain bike Gosh oh track and road on neck and neck who’s going to have it who’s going to have it oh it’s close it’s close as going to be literally on the line I don’t know who had that one neck and [Applause] neck right next up is the big one 1K and

It’ be interesting to see if any Tactics come into play will anybody sit on infin Wheel what wait to find out final race in three 2 1 Go [Applause] We [Applause] Right it is results time we’re going to start with fourth place we have our mountain biker with nine points in third place with 12 points is our bmxer second place very closely followed 13 points our track cyclist and the winner with 16 points Josie our road

Cyclist well thank you all so much for coming and being a part of this hopefully everybody at home enjoyed watching this video let us know if you did enjoy and if you have any other video ideas for our lovely guests cuz I’m sure they love to come

Back we’ll see you in the next one

  1. Perfect representation of the advantages of each discipline when it comes to speed. Mtb could not be performing well because of its small chainring. Maybe if it has bigger chain ring and hard tail it could have a chance in 50 meters. BMX apparently the most torque bicycle discipline. Even here in Philippines there are "bmx drag race" but its an unofficial game so it could be done in secret. Even I have a racing BMX even I'm a roadie. I train in my BMX so I could perform well on the road bike. That strategy of track cyclist are so impressive on the 1km distance. Very great video.

  2. i have a Name for this Race '' the Beauty and the Speed " and i relised the Road Bike is the Queen !!! Every Bike works in the Right Place ! but i choose the Road Bike for Traveling . Thanks Ladies for the show i was a Memoriable One !

  3. the BMX = speed depart works on Downhill __ the MTB = Speed but limits works in Downhills__ the Road two bike ??? undless Spped limits 😍 in my opnion !

  4. Been telling you at GCN and the folks in the comments, BMX bikes are the Champion-Maker of all disciplines. Not to be sniffed at, definitely not "Just a kids bike" theyre serious kit and a great platform for developing any of the further cycling disciplines like the other 3 shown here, and more ontop.
