SRAM Rival ETap.
Had read a few accounts of this but fuck. First chain drop and it does this. The small foil sticker did nothing. What’s process or expectations on this?
Chain however – I’ve done this several times on all bikes. You get used to a different tension through your feet, then know not to push harder. The above happens if you try and push out of it. My experience anyway.

The process is: tune your FD, buy and install a chain catcher, and move on. You can get a replacement metal plate if you wish.

Valuable lesson learned. Install chain catcher.

They have already responded and would like to see more details of the damage. I’m feeling positive.
Either it’s superficial enough to be no worries, or they’ll likely do a warranty claim. Awesome customer service so far, and I think it’s same guy I dealt with when buying the bike. He was really helpful with a range of questions and interrogation over fit and delivery info and even gave me a tip on when new stock was likely to be present for orders.
You all seemed pretty pessimistic about it, and maybe that is my naivety but yeah.

slightly too late now, but if you drop your chain, try to shift up on the front derailleur and pedal slowly to see if it catches onto the larger chainring. I’m not familiar with sram but with shimano, the FD shifts way to the outboard side and then trims after a second. during that time you should be able to get the chain on without getting off your bike and touching the chain.

I have had chains drops on SRAM and Shimano but I will say you do have to be super careful with SRAM AXS and properly set it up with the provided block, thus before I even take a pedal I install a chain catcher but also put a strip of 3M Mastic tape on the bottom of the bottom bracket area because even if the chain drops and is caught by the catcher the bottom part of the chain will still want to tighten around the bottom bracket.
As per Canyon I’d be surprised if they offer anything beyond a credit for an inspection at an independent LBS or just giving you a discount or a crashed replacement frame

I don’t have a drain on my bike. Sounds fancy.
