I was given this bike by my dad who built it in 1983 – it’s been one of the few bikes I’ve ridden over the past 10 years and I’ve recently taken an effort to learn everything I can about it.

The groupset is a Campagnolo Super Record (I believe, or Nuovo?), with Cinelli bars created for Guerciotti. Everything is original, apart from rims, the saddle and a few obvious additions.

The bike has been around, from a small bike shop he built it in in San Mateo, CA, now in my hands in Baltimore, MD.

I took it to a LBS in Bmore and the employee had lots of good things to say about it, telling me to keep its patina, and even knew the bike shop my dad worked at in the 80s in San Mateo. I’ve talked about the bike only a few times, and have only posted about the bike seldomly since I’ve been using it, but I guess I just have a rediscovered pride that this thing has survived over 40 years of regular usage in urban environments.

I love this bike, and am happy to share it. I’m also glad I found this subreddit, there’s lots of great stuff here, and lots to learn about.
