The port city of Husum in the German state of Schleswig-Holstein is located near Denmark. In the harbor with colorful houses there is the National Park House, which has exhibitions on the mudflats and the salt marshes of the Schleswig-Holstein Wadden Sea National Park. In spring, the grounds of the castle in front of Husum are dominated by crocuses. The North Sea Coast Cycle Path runs through the city. Off the coast are the beaches of the North Frisian Islands, including the beaches on Sylt.
