I know this question gets asked fairly often, but with so much changing in 2023 in the bike industry, I’d like to revisit it.
In your opinion, what is the best budget carbon wheelset as far as value/performance out there right now?
– Best Carbon wheelset Under $800?
– Best Carbon wheelset Under $1,000?
I’m looking for my first Carbon wheels for mostly road, and a little gravel riding. Here are my ideal specs:
– $800-$1000 Budget
– Road/gravel “allroad” disc brake
– 30-40 Deep x 21-25mm int. wide Rims
– Asymmetric rim profile, hooked rim, tubless compatible
– New DT Swiss 350 hubs, Shimano 11x free hub 12×100 + 12×120
– Sapim CX Spokes, maybe stronger on rear drive side? What do you think?
– Brass exposed nipples
– Good warranty, nice looking
Here are some brands I’m considering:
