Neighbourhood Tour in Hamburg! Cozy and Convenient German Living Area | Athena’s German Life

One of the most attractive parts of our apartment is the location. It is so close to A7 highway that we could easily go to Denmark or other places for business trip. And the closest metro station from us has the direct connection to Hamburg Airport.
In Hamburg, we quite often go out by foot or take the bike. This gives us a perfect chance to enjoy our surrounding.

Hello everyone, I am Athena Today I would like to show you around our residential area Recently, a residential area like this is getting more and more popular and have been quite often applied on civil plans The whole area we are located now was industrial area in the past and since approx. 2010

It’s getting turned into a living area I will show you on the map This is where our apartment located There are more than 10 thousand residents in this area In the next minutes I will show you the facilities such as metro station, football pitch, and recreation center Our first stop

Is one of the playgrounds in the residential area When the weather is nice you could see people playing with the dog playing football or meeting for a barbecue On the left you could see a pind-pong table and a basketball court An interesting fact is that there are 3 kindergardens in this area

The one in the back is one of them If you are the residence of the area you will be put on the priority list if you want to send your child to kindergarden here As the next thing I will show you an old but typical metro station in Hamburg

The station is called Bahrenfeld From our apartment it only takes 8 minutes by foot to here From here you reach the main station in 16 minutes without transfer As you can see from the whole station to the platform there is no control gate in between because of this there are also sometimes checks

In the train to see if passengers have a ticket If you would like to buy a ticket you could either buy it with a ticket machine or you could simply download the App and buy it via your phone Since there is no information counter in every station if you have some issues

You need to go to the main station and find the service center for support The next stop is the biggest playground in the living area It is Saturday morning now so there are a lot of children playing And again here is a kindergarden nearby Over there is a public facility in this building

You could rent rooms for different events For instance a weekly yoga course takes place there or I have also seen children having a birthday party there Let’s go to the next stop now Now we are at one of the biggest municipal football pitches in Hamburg There are 4 pitches here

And everyday they are in used by different clubs or teams for trainings or having matches No matter which age or gender everyone are here on the pitches enjoying playing football The buildings over there are the locker rooms and a small fitness center We are now standing on a bridge

Which is crossing the longest highway in Germany the A7 It is with a length of 962 km If you heading the north in 160 km from here you are in Denmark If you go down to the south from here and approx. 800 km of driving you could reach the border to Austria

A7 in Hamburg are always, always, always under construction like it will never be done Due to the growth of Hamburg city A7 is also being extended continuously Part of the modern living area are of course facilities where you can spend your free time In this building you could find a billiard center

A fitness center a cinema a Chinese restaurant a karaoke bar a laser tag center and a bowling center Until now are you thinking Um? Why haven’t I mentioned about the place for grocery shopping? Usually we go grocery shopping in the REWE in the back REWE is one of the biggest

Supermarket group in Germany Part of this building is also a kiosk with integrated post office a pharmacy my favorite cosmetic store Budnikowsky and a bakery which has been mentioned in the previous German breakfast video On the other side of the road is a Lidl

Which is one of the biggest discount group in germany And where many people are living of course also a hospital is needed The hospital over there is one of the biggest in Hamburg Part of the residential area are also offices building If you look to the right you could see the whole area

Is still extending This is a big construction site in which they are now building new offices new apartments and a small restaurant And until now did you actually realize something? In Hamburg a lot of buildings are made with this kind of dark red bricks It symbolizes the typical arthitecture in northern Germany

We are now more or less in the end of our tour When I see this skate park I really want to go back to my warm bed as soon as possible Because from here I could directly see the balcony of our bedroom During the summer we always wake up quite early

Since around 8 in the morning we are woken up by the laughter and noise from the skate park not for keeping the regular daily routine We are finally back at the entrace of our apartment After uploading this video I will soon start preparing the inner apartment tour video But before that
