Is your lockring the right threading for the hub?

I think your issue is that your lock ring is too tall/big and there is not enough thread engagement. Try a slimmer profile lock ringĀ
If you’re having trouble with that I’d just have shop do it. Both peace of mind and you could even ask to watch.
You’re right, the lockring is reverse threaded. So turn left to tighten it. Your track hub takes standard english threaded lockrings, it’s possible that your lockring is italian threaded (Miche for example).
You can damage the threads of your hub by tightening it the wrong way or by using an incorrect threaded lockring.
Do you know where the lockring comes from?
Does the other side of your hub also have threads for a lockring or only a freewheel?
If you can mount a lockring on the other side of the hub and you’re not sure where your lockring comes from, I would get another lockring that is English threaded and mount it and the cog on the other side.
