We made the short journey to Springburn in the North of Glasgow, to check out how the latest #RockUp&Ride project site led by NG Homes is progressing.
The Transport Scotland-funded project sees free bikes and coaching sessions delivered to communities, with bikes and servicing provided by Halfords.

Are adults and and and families today we’re up at uh linday Terrace with working with spring bur Unity Network who are a group that I’ve been working with and we’ve been supporting to help develop their opportunities for activity within the community it allows us to put on lead rides which engages the this
Community to come out and take part in activities they may not have had a chance to do before so the people in our group they’re mostly refugees from other countries who come over to this country so we engage them to be part of the part of the community the schol community so
We encourage them to come forward for these kinds of cycling events and all and meet people actually we we didn’t know much about cycling the whole thing about cycling and the benefit and how it can help the community especially to develop their skills uh most of them are isolated you see bring them
Together I think well from the bits I’ve seen um seem to be really really exciting they they’re enjoying it for a lot of our activity it isn’t just about the sport it’s about actually socially getting together so the ability to bring a group of friends together and go out
And do something which will improve physical activity and their physical well-being is really important for us and I think from the people I’ve spoken to they’re really enjoying it uh and the organizers Mal and sha seem to have give you some good feedback so they’re enjoying it and the group are having a
