Throwback to my Taiwan trip with my now wife, then girlfriend.
Just want to let you guys & gals know that the trip over to Taipei and then around the island-country is 110% worth it and you will run into friendly faces everywhere you go. In pic 2 my wife had a flat and a group of HonKongers on the same route stopped to help. Message me if you want my Strava segments as we kinda just left on a whim and played every day by ear.
Lots of bicycle shops everywhere you go and the food there won’t disappoint. We stayed in hotels every night, primarily love motels, and had our own personal garage 90% of the time! Again, check it out and put it on your list, the Taiwanese know what’s up when it comes to cycle touring!

My wife and I rode Route 1 this last year. Was the first time on tour I’ve had construction workers high-fiving me as I rode by. Great people.
Next time I’d prefer to do it without the 5 days of food poisoning, although my wife was happy to be the fast one this trip!
