Hi guys,
My long-awaited Ultimate CF Sl8 Aero arrived today and after a short period of happiness I’m quite angry now:
The bike got scratches on the top tube and the front disc makes noises.. After taking a closer look I recognized the brake saddle apparently got struck with sth, one can clearly see the impact.

Am I too picky with this? Or is my frustration justified? Imo, a 5.000€ bike should arrive flawless..

Front brake bolt is from Canyon installing it…it’s a really common mark from Allen wrenches in that spot. The top tube is from their plastic sheeting they use in shipping, it’s not the best material, esp for gloss finish like that.

I’d contact canyon and ask for a few hundred bucks back.

  2. Whatever you do; Don’t let this bike out of the house. It is probably going to get scratched even more.

  3. Some automotive polish will probably take those top tube marks out. I can sympathize with the scratch on the caliper… maybe they’ll ship a replacement, but I’d ride it as is.

It’s annoying yes when you first get into bikes, it’s all just marks form the tools they use to set up the bike, just wait till you start ordering after market parts, they don’t come as perfect as the photos, they are usually just one or two dings nothing that’s any worse than from you using that part/bike anyways
