I’ve obsessively got opinions on that ding, the paint crack looked like a frame crack, but everyone I spoke with tells me it’s fine and just cosmetic. I could go as far as stripping the paint in that area for confirmation. But for certain there is a significant decrease in value.
An older cycling friend of mine asked me to sell this for him, it’s a 2010, and 52cm. I’m leaning towards giving it back to him and not help with the sale, also he didn’t even know about the ding! Maybe he did or didn’t…. Regardless I have no idea what to sell this for. Was thinking putting the frame on eBay for auction and let the market decide. But Would feel pretty bad if he only got like $20.
I didn’t know much about Gunnar until this, they’re pretty cool handmade steel frames! And the company closed down last year. They’re are some huge fans of Waterford frames, and seems like a ‘Gunnar is too Waterford’ is like ‘Toyota is to Lexus’ in a way? Thats likely the only reason why this could sell, if there is a buyer out there who likes the brand.
If anyone has a guess on what could be a realistic sale I would appreciate it. Just want to manage some expectations, If I were to guess maybe like $100 or less? He’s saying more like $300+
