Well of course every fan would reckoned to know all about team managing but the only team manager that matter right now are these two Peter I know the walls have got a stiff task in front of them but they’re up for the job aren’t they
Yeah I mean uh our minds go back to uh last season’s Cup Final when Paul came back from the dead to win you know from a huge deficit so it can be done but I mean it’s a it’s a tall order and you know we’re just looking really to do
Ourselves Justice and uh give the Pirates a good match and of course the wolves do know about how to win an elite League without winning the championship yeah you know but I mean um it’s going to be a tall order this we understand that but we didn’t particularly uh do ourselves
Justice last Monday so we’re hoping that um you know we can push pool all the way and you know delay the the eventual outcome for as long as possible thanks Peter Neil gotta say the guys are trying to keep a lid on things got a long way to go we’re only halfway there
Yet yeah absolutely as Peter said earlier I mean Coventry found out that they’re expensive that uh you never give up and say I know Peter’s excellent manager and he and he’s going to be getting his boys going and the same thing I said to my boys you know this
This like you say was only half times another half to go yeah okay good luck to you both okay well the Pirates know what they’ve got to do can they do it though it’s been 16 years since the team has won back-to-back titles and that’s what they’re after tonight that’s the one
That really matters to find out that there’s no more time and go and join Graham for the rest of the action so here we are then we’ve returned safe to our natural position here at wimborne Road after a very exciting evening at Mom or green and there’s a capacity
Crowd here at uh Stadium fitting this second leg of the elite League playoff for the uh Pirates tonight the the Dual enemy of Wolverhampton and any apathy which might suggest that with an eight-point lead they’ve got it in the bag I’m sure Neil middle ditch will have
Told them otherwise and as the season comes to its climax the Pirates form seem to have peaked at just the right time here in heat one then it’s Biana Patterson in the red helmet goes from grid one Magnus having won the toss selected one of the three his partner
Kristoff Castle Baza in a rich Reyna form at the moment goes from good three and for the walls it’s their pairing of Micromax in green on Grid 2 and the pole Adam skonitsky on whom a lot will depend this evening and he goes from grid for
He’s in the yellow helmet it’s the elite League playoff final second leg the Pirates eight points to the good another 15 Heats of Speedway and here we are with the race number one ready to go on another exciting and potentially history making evening of Speedway here at
Winborne Road here goes the green light and away they go beyond a Patterson as he has done so often this evening gets a superb start from grid one with Adam scorneti sprightly from grid two Michael Max on the inside line in green leaving Christoph Casper Zak uh somewhat
Unusually trailing at the back but Fiona Patterson looking comfortable to be quite happy to share heaps any suggestion of an advantage of eight points or more and Peter Adams that technical suprema will be straight in with Patrick that’s all to come maybe or maybe not broadcasted that getting
Severely out of shape on Pittsburgh there and uh Diana Patterson with a lot to go Micromax seems to be closing slightly christophezak having a little bit of problem with the track Michael Max certainly is happening having a good go for the wolves and then leads into
The final turn it looks as if Malcolm X gonna make a Do or Die Challenge on the last Ben but Fiona peasant sees it coming checks it on the run-in and that’s a winning start for the Pirates and a shared race between these two uh sets of teams and uh three points to
Each side and of course on aggregate the pirates still eight ahead on to race two then the reserves race and for the wolves on one and three the one changed since uh last week’s match Magnus Carlson uh regularly in the Premier League for Hull he’s uh on grid one
Taking the place of Chris Neath who is a little bit out of sorts uh seven days ago his partner Freddie linger and uh in the yellow helmet goes from grid three for the Pirates it’s Daniel Davidson on grid two and Magnus set astrum the skipper on grid four well it’s an all
Swedish race here in Heat number two and uh Magnus is just uh getting himself sucked up I’m sure just about to come into line I I can tell you that Kristoff Casper that was completely caught out by the conditions in race one said he was speaking up completely he’s gonna have
To far too much power he’s gonna have to detune and Readiness for his next race because uh last week he was out here in much heavier conditions and he was romping around obviously uh he’s gonna have to do some uh mechanical adjustments but let’s see how we get on
Now with the race number two away they go and that’s a good start from Daniel Davidson and a good one from Freddie Lindgren and Daniel takes a little look over his shoulder to see Freddie linger and go by but while he was doing that uh Magnus said this room was just getting
The better of Magnus Carlson so it was uh 3-3 going into the first Bend and a 3-3 coming off the back straight but by that time the Riders had changed their positions we’re just getting completely covered in Shale here uh and if the voice goes is because the dry conditions
Are throwing up quite a lot of the trailer to our comfort position it doesn’t seem to be affecting the Riders certainly Freddie Lindgren out in front is looking very comfortable Daniel Davidson comfortable in second Magnus in third drawn races will be fined by the park Neil middle it will be perfectly
Happy with this and uh two races gone and still be all square and the Wolves fans of which there’s a quarter cluster just in front of us here on the pitch turn we’ll be happy with the result of that race winner from Freddie Lindgren wolves number seven pirates in the minor places
Six apiece and 55 47 the progressive total foreign This time pirates uh have the one three uh gates with Antonio limbach Sensational nothing less would uh do justice to his performance at Momo green seven days ago absolutely Sensational the way he drew away from Michael Max was absolutely incredible and uh his partner Matty puryan goes from good
Three his former winborne Road here uh also deserves that same adjective Sensational it has been in the last uh a couple of months here particularly for the Wolves they’ve got David Howe going from Grid 2 and the rider replacement for Daniel nurmach which is the wolves
Um have operated just about the whole of the Season since Paul Daniel had that terrific injury breaking both legs and Adam skonichi is in the other helmet on gate four because he got a very good gate from there in the first race what’s he gonna do this time against Matthew
Furian as away they go and this time it’s it’s a pretty Bunchy entrance into the bed but the Pirates are away mati for you and that trademark first Ben he keeps the throttle on and he’s just away Antonio limbach doing the team riding bit once again tucked in on the inside
But the Wolves At Close order with David Howe and Adam scoring it they are going to make a bite of this but these two Pirates have been the secret weapon towards the end of the season because mapping furian and Antonio limber are absolutely scorching around this track and despite the rather difficult racing
Conditions tonight a little bit of dryness uh they’re having no problem whatsoever and looks like there’s been a Faller there yes Adam’s couldn’t actually take a little tumble but he’s just managed to get his uh bike off the track as David Hyde continues to breathe in the exhaust pipe of Antonio limbach
But I don’t think it’s going to do it much good because the two parts are in maximum mood and another giant step in he free towards the retention of that Elite League trophy so sought after by everybody here at winborne road but it’s early days yet that’s three races gone
But the Pirates do extend their aggregate lead to 12 point as the score on the nightstands Paul Reyes Pirates 11 points Wolverhampton seven thank you Very soon okay the final Edition results well here we go with heat four and of course the Pirates have also got one change from the team that throw to Mumbo green last week because back into the lineup comes Ryan Sullivan he uh he did ride in the KO Cup matches against
Swindon uh last week but uh he’s back in for the second leg of this playoff he rides in the red helmet from grid three Magna set astrum in the blue helmet goes from grid one and opposition from the Wolves comes from their only race winner in the opening races that’s Freddie
Lindgren he goes in the uh yeah helmet he’s on grid two and of course they’re inspirational captain reputedly in his last season of racing Samo malenko going from grid 4 in green so that’s how they line up first blood to the par it’s in race three and the
Wolves hit back this time certainly Ryan Sullivan uh despite that uh the handicap of that hand Andrea has been flying and uh he gets a pretty good start this time but it looks like Freddie lingo and has beaten in turn got them jump on him and
Uh it’s uh once again a potential drawn situation with uh Freddie linguin once again out in front Ron Sullivan picked up some tremendous Drive coming out of turn four there and Magna set us to him doing the team riding on the inside shutting off in the attempts by Sam
Malenko so once again it’s Freddie Lindgren who’s uh catching the eye for the Wolves if he can hold on here this will be a famous race win for him and make his uh I’ve put this evening so far two races two wins Brian Sullivan is riding steadily the Pirates are in no
Hurry to take any chances to build up a significant lead because it could just be checked I attacked all right but certainly Samo malenko there Wheeling out of the pitch bend it looks as if he might go straight through the air fence but he kept control and oh dear it looks
As if the Pirates have been gifted at a 5-1 just on the run-in as Freddie lindgren’s bikes packs up how unfortunate is that for the Wolves the Pirates fans are applauding but I think they’ll all feel particularly sorry for Freddie lingering he just completely lost power and it almost these bikes of
Course don’t have any brakes but it was almost if the brakes were put on how unfortunate is that and the pirates from a steady 3-3 dramatically on the line were gifted a 5-1 race win with Ryan Sullivan the winner and uh of course Magnus Edison thinks that must be time
For a dance and he’s celebrating already it’s early days yet but the Pirates do go into a 16 point lead overall and an eight-point lead on the evening I’m sure having commiserated Freddie Lindgren Peter Adams will be immediately looking at his program to see how he can make an
Early Advantage take early advantage of the Tactical ride rules but more of that later in the meantime the Pirates now lead by 16 points to eight on the night but it didn’t take Pete uh Peter Adams long to get the Tactical ride in and then race number five he moved straight
In quickly with Michael Max Mikhail Max in the black and white helmet going from grid three and instead of his normal green helmet his partner Adam skonitsky goes on grid one in the yellow helmet and for the Pirates it’s the fast trapping Maddie puryan on grid two and
Antonio limb back on good four so can the max do it for the Wolves he’s darling of the uh wolves uh following and they’ll be absolutely delighted if he can capitalize on the double points that he would pick up from this race Matthew and on the other hand for the
Pirates is pretty smartly away he’s a first Ben specialist so all in all it’s an intriguing battle in Prospect here in Heat number five as the Riders uh reluctantly uh just uh coming into line trying to psych each other out and the match obviously at an important stage
For wolves they can’t afford to let the Pirates get away they’re already eight ahead on the night and a tactical ride this time means that uh they’re looking for points but Matty ferian says you might be looking for points but so are the Pirates he gets a
Superb grid uh start from grid two and uh even better Antonio limbach scorchism grid four and it looks like this pairing could be on for another five one one it would be a five Turkish day like this because Michael Max is uh only in third place and Peter Adams would obviously
Have wished for a lot more than this but Antonio limbach is a way away Into the Night second place of Michael Max breathing down his neck but if the Pirates take a 5-2 here they will almost be out of sight and it won’t be long before we start working out with our calculators
Things like mathematical certainties but at this stage a half an hour to go and Antonio Lim back out in front mati furian second Miko Max in third place Adams school nitzi for another maximum to the Pirates albeit this time with a 5-2 rather than the 5-1 the crowd are going absolutely
Mad here already there are signs of expectation around the pits and around the track and this pairing here are absolutely Invincible there Massey furian Antonio limbach once again received the Acclaim of the crowd there and the 5-1 Banners are being waived It’s a Wonderful sight here at the end
Of this 2004 Speedway season and the Pirates now are to the goodbye 21 points to ten eleven points up on the night and 19 overall just look at the celebrations already so we’re on to Race Six it’s 70 points to 51 a 19 point gap on aggregate but
The Pirates are going to keep plugging away here in Race Six they’ve got Christoph Casper Zak in the blue helmet going from grid one alongside him on two Sam irmolenko Bianna Patterson winner of race one goes from grid three and Magnus Carlson the reserve uh alteration for
The Wolves goes from grid four well I can tell you that Kristoff kasperak been working with his uh pit staff absolutely furiously since his first outing where as I said in commentary he was uh far too powerful so they’ve made considerable changes to the setup and
We’re now going to find out whether it’s paid off because right alongside him picking up on any uh inaccuracies in the setup will be Sam ermelenko but for good measure of course we’ve got Bjorn Patterson good from any grid position although three perhaps not particularly one of the favorite Gates here but uh
I think the way the Pirates are riding tonight gate positions are a little bit academic anyway Sam just coming into line here a little bit fidgety on the line and they’re just about to put them under orders what can the Pirates do this time and Samo malenko does get a
Good start and pack cryptov customer that was pretty slow away from the tape and uh allowed Chris allowed Samuel Milenko to come through but he certainly made up for it there going into two and three because steadily ran the first Bend but Kristoff Casper’s act although he didn’t get out
Of the gate at all well he came through in such determined style he wasn’t going to have another dud race and he wants to join his partner for another maximum and the players are on a roll at the moment with two drawn races in the opening to
Heat the Pirates have been on maximums ever since and here in heat six it looks as if it’s going to be no exception if they’re not careful the wolves are going to get their tails tucked well between their legs here this evening because they just seem to have no answer to the
Pirates Point scoring power as around the final turn Brianna Pederson and Christoph Casper’s at take the Heat win for the Pirates Sam emelenco Trails somewhat despondently there after a few little wild west Maneuvers earlier in the race in third place Magnus Carlson not doing the business in the place of
Chris Neath and Community there seems to be no answer here to the Pirates points going Powers they take another 5-1 making the scoreline 26 to the Pirates 11 to the walls we’re on to race seven and uh this time for the wars we’ve got the pairing of David Howe and Freddie linguin so
Unlucky in his second race without uh engine failure we’re not quite sure exactly what the problem was there we’ll try and find out but certainly it robbed him of a deserved Victory he’s out in good three this time can his luck change here against the Pirates bearing of Ryan
Sullivan going from grid two and his partner in the blue helmet the young Suite Daniel Davidson goes from the outside Starting Gate position grid four so it’s all set then pirates still got plenty of work to do but they’re uh now looking like a 23 Point Advantage
Overall 75-52 on aggregate but as I say still work to do away go the Riders is he’s seven and the Pirates are once again and in front on the first Ben run Sullivan looks over his shoulder looks for Daniel Davidson and he’s there Ryan Sullivan hugs the inside line to let his
Young Swedish partner Ryan that’s a sign of confidence Jake makes a challenge in third place for the Wolves he’s in the yellow helmet with David Hyde trailing disappointingly at the back Daniel Davidson out in front Rowan Sullivan shepherding his young partner looks as if he’s coming through in uh second place for the wall there and
Daniel Davidson out in front with a Lap to go run someone gets relegated for third Freddie linguin certainly is in scorching pool tonight maybe just uh playing the penalty of uh Team riding sometimes it does happen but the Pirates won’t mind because they take a 4-2 Ron Sullivan will feel that that’s
A heat Victory although individual race uh success there eluded him but uh he’ll be angry with himself but please for the team the Pirates take a 4-2 to extend their lead even further they lead it on the Night by 30 points to 13 and uh well just seconds counting down to the race
Which will eventually decide this title I think only a disaster the pool now can prevent them from making it back-to-back victories we’re on to heat eight now and uh it’s a best opportunity of the evening for the Wolves to take a heat Victory because they’ve nominated Freddie Lindgren who’s got the advantage
Of grid one and has been in sparkling form apart from cruelly robbed of uh heat four Victory with an engine failure he’s out again is for acting of the night and he’s tactical ride in the black and white helmet going from grid one alongside him Magnus edistrom in the
Blue then we’ve got Adam skonitsky in uh the grid 3 position in the green helmet and Kristoff kasimzak in gate four in the red helmet so the real opportunity here for the Wolves to get a measure of respectability they’re throwing quite badly at the moment and uh some of their
Fans are getting a little bit despondent but they have something to cheer this time as a good start from Lincoln but a better one from Christoph Casper’s back there from grid4 that’s more like Christophe and once again it looks like Peter Adams efforts to capitalize on the
Tactical ride rule are being thwarted by these swashbuckling Pirates Who are an absolutely scintillating floor Casper’s arcade in front there he’s had a couple of indifferent rides although he did come through quite well to take a second place in his previous hiding but uh he’s been in great form in recent weeks and
Here he is out in front of those Freddie linguin as he did with Brian Sullivan the race before is really putting up a terrific battle and uh he’s uh absolutely Fearless he’s doing cutbacks on every turn he goes in wide here what him you’re getting deep dirt do a big
Cut back and while Casper’s act drifting wide out of the turns lingering has got a very tight line obviously used to Mom more green which obviously helps in those matters but it was to no avail because Christoph caspers are held on to the advantage there and although the
Wolves did not win the race they managed to share it because uh twice two is four for Freddie linger and the Pirates take four so it’s a 4-4 draw in Heat number eight checking tonight’s score line Pirates 34 points the wolves 17. on to race nine now and uh the
Progressive total puts the Pirates on 83 over the two legs and the wolves on 58. so we’re heading towards mathematical certainties a 5-1 this time from the Pirates should certainly almost clench here I don’t think it quite well for the Wolves this time they’re Skipper Milenko goes from
Grid one we’ve got Antonio Lim back on two Magnus Carson uh the Wolves number six goes from grid three and mati furian on grid four can the Pirates take yet another five one they’ve had a couple already and that’s another good start there but uh pretty good one from Irma
Lincoln as uh coming through there we had Antonio limbach what a great first Ben he was so brave but uh the Wolves there determined not to let the Pirates get a 5-1 and mati puryan had to to the honor custom thing and that has cut back switch back to the inside line he’s
Sitting there comfortably in third place there is really no need for heroics he’s got Samo malenko just in front of him but that’s absolutely no pressure on Sir to beat Sam because he knows that it’s the title’s almost in the bag and it’s safety first so I’m sure that’ll be the
Instructions from Neil metal dish but Antonio limbach it’ll be three races three wins or at least he was crazy behind his partner’s first one but another potential I’ve beaten outing here for the young Swede as it comes around to take the checker flag it’s a 4-2 to the Pirates mathematical
Certainties we are not quite talking about maybe the next race but 4-2 to the Pirates makes the score line 38 to the Pirates 19 to the wolves race number 10 could this be the race that clinches the title for the Pirates because they’re now 38 points to 19
Ahead on the night but 27 points ahead on aggregate there are now only six races remaining any sort of result this time and I think it’s curtains for the walls and trophies for the pirates for the Pirates this time we’ve got Christoph Casper Zak in the blue helmet
On grid two he’s partner bianni Patterson with two great wins already under his belt going from grid four for the Wolves last row of the dice they put Freddie linger out again they’re busy at number seven the only Rider to really uh show any sort of um any sort of form
That that seriously threatens the Pirates he’s on grid one as a reserve change David Howe in the green helmet goes from three so is this going to be the Epic race the history crunching race is it going to be the back-to-back Elite League wins we’re about to find out in
The next 60 seconds as the tapes go up Good Start From linger and Pederson there goes well from third and David have in four so looks like a 4-2 here to the pirate this could be the race could is that trying to make it a 5-1 although I think a 4-2 will be
Good enough and uh Casper’s act looks over his shoulder sees David Howe thinks to himself well what should we do here it’s uh lingering out in the dirt Casper’s are taking a title line Fiona Patterson eight in front as he has been in his previous two rides and with a Lap
To go the Pirates are about to get not one hand on the silverware which was a situation seven days ago but both hands on the silver because this would make it 91-62 to the Pirates and on the final band Christoph Cassidy wanting to finish with the floor as he certainly does but
Third place is good enough for the Pirates first for Bjorn Patterson the Pirates are coming out of the pits I think they know that’s it League champions 2004. the Sky Bet Elite League champions for 2004. look up Magnus Celestron he really wears the Pirates colors on his
Sleeve on his race jacket and everywhere else as far as I know because he is jumping up and then that’s the title they did it in 10 races here tonight the hard work was done seven days ago at one more green but it still had to be written for this evening and everybody’s
Up and there’s Christoph Christmas Act getting the Acclaim of his teammates as he comes back to the pits they’re absolutely ecstatic the end of a wonderful season here up goes Kristoff he’s a bit of a lump but uh it’s there and taking the full weight and uh up he
Goes behind the Patterson’s gonna get the same treatment what scenes these are here at wimborne Road and it’s wonderful for Speedway superb for Paul at uh Speedway turn through and through maybe uh doesn’t figure too much in the Realms of football but Speedway is King here at
Paul and uh certainly tonight of all nights there’s another sporting uh occasion epic historical sporting occasion as the Pirates take back-to-back victories that hasn’t been done for 16 years in the Top Flight of the Speedways and uh hits all together marvelous evening for pool Speedway Matt Ford Mike Golding the management Team
All the staff here and all the supporters the best supporters of course in British Speedway and uh they’re making the most of this case there’s Matt Ford coming back to the pits with his Riders after that race they’re all so so happy look at the scenes there
Being captured of course going out live to the uh Sky viewers and captured here of course on pirate videos so the Pirates then with 10 races gone they lead the wolves on the Night by 42 points to 21. and overall now they can’t be caught they are the league champions great scenes here
On to heat 11 with Ryan Sullivan in red on grid one Daniel Davidson in Blue from grid three and Adam skonitki goes on grid two Michael Max on grid four and uh with the title now safely in the back uh the the pressure’s off they can do with
Their racing I’m sure they ride just as hard and in the words of that famous football pundit Ron Atkinson it’s deja vu all over again here at wimborne Road as the Pirates make it back to back League victories and uh their number five their top Rider and the averages
Ron Sullivan is going to hopefully go out put the icing on the cake here as he jets away from gate one there absolutely superb but uh Michael Max gets a pretty good game from switch to himself and in fact it’s the wolves that uh would you believe it having uh trailed all night
It could be taking their first Heat win here as Micromax had an absolutely fantastic start there from grid four uh too much about that Daniel Davidson uh right at the back there and of course we’re unsure that will generate about 50 into that uh responses from the parts
Having shown up the lead title and uh setting off in uh in pursuit of the lowest possible averages for next season well we say that slightly tongue-in-cheek because the Pirates obviously from this capacity to crowd here to capitalize on this comprehensive Victory but in this particular race the
Wolves going to take their first uh race win of the evening Michael Max uh they’re inspirational number one does that uh Ryan Sullivan finishing second Adam’s cornichi third and in fourth place Daniel Davidson 44 to the Pirates 25 to the Wolves four hits remaining then uh race 12 lines up with uh
Mahipuyan on grid one on two alongside him uh the uh I say uh Peter Adams working overtime but Freddie Lindgren this is his uh sixth ride of the evening he’s got one more scheduled race and heat 14 so he’s uh I think he’s gonna finish top of their score chart
David Howe goes from grid four in the green helmet and competing the lineup in Blue on grid three pirate Skipper Magnus Celestron he uh he obviously got carried away emotionally with the celebrations after Race 10 because uh Neil middleditch who had to get the hanky out
Last year it was quite buoyant this year but it was Magnus who’s just captained the Pirates and uh to their league title and uh he it means so much to him to be in the Hall of Fame for all time as the tapes go up on heat 12 and once again
The wolves are pretty sharp on the tank there but Matthew was even sharper from grid one and he creates a nice uh Magnus room to come through in second place here and it looks like this race is going to be stopped Freddie Lindgren took a tumble there he’s been immediately excluded by
Referee Mick Bates but uh that was oh so good on the first Ben because had a great start he uh had the two wolves Riders well out into the track mid track or wide Magnus came up the line about going unfortunately into turn three Magnus um so rather it was Freddie
Lingering who took a tumble so could still get a Zorro 5-1 here but we’ve got to wait for a restart here we go then for the restart of race 12 Freddy linger and unfortunately he’s having an eventful evening tonight um taking Ryan Sullivan from the back
And uh comprehensive uh win in his first race uh most unfortunate engine failure and there he had a very close look at the pool safety fence so uh he’s sitting this one out he’s still got one race remaining so still time for more incident but for the Pirates now Matty
Foyan and Magnus Celestron uh takes one one three respectively with David Howe on grid four and certainly Magnus looked as if he was snooking up the inside there for a 5-1 before that race was stopped and uh wonder if he can uh repeat that this time he’s just got
One Rider to worry about and he gets a much better start from group three that time and David Ho look to make a promising start but Magnus thinks no I need a race win I’m the only pirate tonight who hasn’t got one and I want one especially on tonight
Of all night and he’s really determined united front David Ho trolling in third place he’s been pretty ineffective for the Wolves tonight just one third place ahead of his Fallen partner two last and he’s uh not for the one to try he’s been busy but I’m afraid the Pirates are just
Too uh hyped up for this one they’re not going to let this one go and I feel a dance coming on because Magnus certainly will be in celebratory mood if he takes the chicken flag after this race and he has been known to persuade Matthew to
Participate uh in the past as around the final brand it’s Magna set us from manipurian 5-1 for the Pirates David has tried everything on the last class there but it didn’t pay off and it’s a maximum on the track are we gonna see some Nifty little dance moves around by the uh
Grandstand we’ll have to wait and see just put the scores together in the meantime 49 now to the Pirates 26 to the wolves and uh a win great to see a win from Magnus and uh second from Matty Furia and great for the speedway I’ve got a feeling that
Magnus is gonna make the most of this he is going to make the most here we go he’s right on the line here and he’s off the bike there it’s not dancing it’s celebration pure celebration yes I think Magnus is pleased and who can blame him that was absolutely
Wonderful inside left the 2004 Pirates 49 points to 26 in the lead and the big guns for heat 13 mccormacks for the wolves in the green helmet just hanging back a little bit he’s uh and eventually takes his place in the race on the inside grid one alongside him in a grid two Biana Patterson in the red
Helmet and his partner is Ryan Sullivan he goes from grid 4 in blue competing the lineup on grid three in the yellow helmet could this be his final race here at winborne Road as a Speedway uh Rider maybe not as a Speedway pundit but if you believe all the publicity and all
The talk that we’ve heard all season uh this is uh sudden Sam’s final year in Speedway can’t believe it although he’s perhaps not been vintage tonight and there’s no uh very uh tale uh ending to his career if indeed that’s what’s going to happen but uh nevertheless he’s been
In such good form this season uh that I don’t think many people in Speedway actually believe that uh he is about to retire from the sport but uh if he is then this is going to be his final race maybe at wimborne Road as the tapes go
Up Mikhail Max gets the Super Start there and uh comes through on the inside and Brian Sullivan looks to try and follow him through but Michael Max on the outside there was just a little bit too cute for that and so Vianney pettison and he has
Been all night out in front of the Carol Max has now been passed on the inside by Ryan Solomon Ryan Sullivan more usual usually known for her is uh exploits on the outside of the track but uh inside all right it doesn’t really matterenko wants to have a bash at uh
Some Glory because with a lap2go he’s moved into third place leaving Micromax right at the back for the walls who are staring down the battle of the barrel of another Pirates five one and with the half a lap to go Fiona Paris tonight in front Ryan Solomon in second place the
Pirates doing it the hard way from the back and they really are underlining a prolific win here this evening with that maximum race victory in heat 13. 54-27 their lead with two races remaining really epic stuff here from the Pirates penultimate race then of this uh second
Leg playoff 54-27 the Pirates lead and in heat 14 Daniel Davidson uh Five Points from his three starts goes from grid one Antonio limbach I’m beaten by an opponent uh are you gonna join bianni Peterson on Max but only just finished the 12th Point uh maximum yeah Antonio
On a grid three for the Wolves it’s uh their number three writer David Ho who has a rider replacement ride going from grid two and uh coming out for possibly a less eventful race but you never know because Freddie Lindgren is coming out for his final ride of the
Evening he’s allowed seven starts this is indeed the seventh so this is uh his final race of him he goes in the yellow helmet on grid four what can he do this time oh he’s having a little bit of um a little bit of bike trouble there I’m
Not sure he’s getting some assistance anyway uh from the starter not quite sure what his problem is so uh nope he seems to be okay so he’s come back into line the starter anxious to get them away and uh I want to delay the celebrations on Julie
So here they are on the line as the tapes go up and that’s a really good start from Daniel Davidson Antonio Lynn back at the back for the first time this evening Freddie Lindgren tries the inside and David Howe is on the outside they’re all very closely
Bunch here Daniel Davis had in the lead role Freddie Lynchburg he’s not going to uh settle for that I’m quite sure he takes a big handful around the outside he looks as if he’s gonna line up Daniel that looks who’s doing the lineup and decides on a cut back what a great
Pass that was by Antonio limbach so good in fact he got both the Wolves right in there not just uh David high but he got Freddie linguin as well and lingwood coming back at him but that was absolutely the first Speedway the best move of the evening from Antonio limback
And a big reason why the Pirates have been so untouchable towards the end of the season that particularly in these playoffs that was superb Speedway we’ll have to have another look at that because Antonio limbach keeps his unbeaten rides on the evening four races four wins but it didn’t look as if there
Was any way he could come back through there and take both those walls but he did it he cut back he came back let’s have a look at that uh uh pass there he was trailing the two walls but he was lining them up he went right out in the
Dirt and thought well am I going to go around the outside nose last minute he cuts back up the inside and not only does he catch David Howe but going into turn three he gets very linguin as well look at that Speedway that is complete Mouse Riverside of a Speedway bike there
By Antonio limbach absolutely wonderful stuff so just before the celebrations get underway here we are down on the line for race 15 and uh in this one the nominated Riders race we’ve got Antonio limbach in blue Ryan Sullivan in red for the Pirates wolves the one that
Has taken grids one and three they’re tracking Michael Max and Samo malenko so maybe last time we saw Sam it wasn’t his last race here maybe this is the last race here but we’ll have to wait and see but anyway the Pirates 59 points to 28
In the lead here and with an aggregate lead of 101 108 points to 69 they’re here on the line for the final race of this playoffs Heat 30 in effect between these two teams Parts well in front and are the Wolves going to end up here by
Lowering the colors of the Pirates I’m sure the way Antonio limback has been riding tonight he won’t want to drop a single point he’s been an absolutely scorching form so far tonight and even though the match is long over you can see the tactics and the games going on
The line there is away they go and Brian Sullivan gets the restart from too and he’s out in front but mikomax looks and he’s trying to force his way around the outside but he doesn’t and it’s Ryan Sullivan out in front for the pirates with the two walls tucked in in second
And third place Sam irmalink on the inside Miko Max in second place and we’ve got Antonio limback once again looking to try and come before he comes up the inside of Max but Max is screwing around the outside Samo malenko indetermined to perform in second place here as limback goes around the outside
On the pitch turn looking to make an outside challenge with a lap and a half to go for the Pirates he goes around and almost comes to grief there but gets grip and comes back with a lot to go Ryan Sullivan and in front here the
Pirates holding a 4-2 in this final race of the night Antonio limber never knows when he’s beaten makes an inside Challenge on Sam irmolenko but the old-timer is going to have it over the rider half his age and as they cross the line there it’s a superb Speedway race
To finish the proceedings and the piratesaker 4-2 Ryan Sullivan great from the start eight in front where he likes to be Ontario Lim back giving the crowd Thrills right up to the last lap of the race in the Pirates of Victorious by 4-2 and they win the match by 63 points to
30. that is an absolutely superb victory for the Pirates and they take the Acclaim of the crowd and this crowd here getting ready for the celebrations that will soon follow with the presentation of the elite League trophy so that’s all the racing excitement it’s the celebrations to come
Well Graham a fantastic evening to a fan a fantastic end to a fantastic season and a fantastic evening tonight well absolutely and I think everyone who came here tonight thought that the Pirates really had it in the bag after last week but we know that the Wolves uh fight to
The end and we also know that uh you know complacency could possibly creep in I didn’t think for one moment it would and I don’t think most people did Neil middleditch would not let that happen and the bar the Pirates started the evening as they meant to go on with
Beyond tennis and winning the race and right through to the end there with Ryan Sullivan they just wanted to pick up every single point and as we see from the score chart they’ve won overall on aggregate by a massive 112 points to 71. that really makes a statement to the
Rest of Speedway I think I think no matter what the nerves were tonight the Pirates came out fighting they showed their absolute class tonight and anybody that said that the Pirates didn’t deserve this title well they certainly proved tonight that they really did deserve it a 33-point victory tonight
The fans on loving it yeah well have you ever heard noise like this I can hardly hear myself think here but the other thing that we must bear in mind is that this was a real team effort every one of the Pirates won a race but also every
One of the parks put 100 in and that was I think for me as with the trip up to Monmouth which we all totally enjoyed because again it was such a good team effort and I think uh you know a good team effort and the right result I think
Being fortunate enough to be in the pits and here they come the Victorious Pirates and uh there they go acknowledging the crowd and the crowd acknowledging the Pirates yes look at these scenes these are this is what memories are made of and this is why Magnus was sort of overcome with emotion
Because really and uh this this situation here is a Speedway Rider’s dream and of course those moments will be captured in the media and in publication for years to come and people always look back to the year 2003 and again to the year 2004 uh to these uh to
These scenes and uh when these Riders are long past their riding days they’ll have something to look back on and I think that does mean so much to them you know they’re professional Sportsmen but also Speedway is in their blood and it does really mean so much to them that
You can tell by their um excitement the way they’re behaving that this really does mean so much to them and uh it’s just wonderful scenes here and for it to happen back to back for two seasons well uh you know I mean Where Do We Go From Here 2005 with Matt
Ford and Mike Golding at the helm and the way they are stupidly put their team together I wouldn’t rule it out well the crowd acknowledging the efforts of Brianna Patterson as he goes over to pick up his trophy he’ll be the first of the Pirates to step up onto the Rostrum congratulations
From Matt Ford there Kristoff kaspersack another great evening scored a duck in his first ride came out back into the pits the changes made all the difference metaphor and what a revelation he’s been this year for the Pirates the turning point when Matty came back into the side
And undoubtedly The Sensation that Paul Antonio lindbach a delighted young man his mum and dad are watching tonight and they’ll be very proud Ryan Sullivan coming into the side to fill in the shoes of Tony rickardson and what a fantastic job he’s done he battled hard tonight and came back
With a win in his final ride just what the doctor ordered for Young Daniel great experience for the young Swede team manager Neil middleditch is next the Riders absolutely love to ride for Neil massive respect for this man and in there is the turn of the skipper he’s going to receive the trophy
Hello And look at the emotion on his face foreign Each one of them delighted that he’s the skipper it means so much to Magnus he loves pool Speedway and Paul Speedway certainly love all seven of these guys they’ve ridden their hearts clout in 2004 and they’ve won the Ultimate Prize and here it comes it goes a lot
And there go the fireworks to celebrate they’ve got the title again back-to-back titles in 2003 and 2004 for the reass Pirates and here comes the champagne Foreign [Applause] These are the scenes that we wanted to see so much it’s a repeat of last year and it’s absolutely incredible to see these guys up on the roster yet again yeah 15 years since it’s been done I believe Coventry were the last team to do it yes and uh here we have the
Pirates making sporting history for town of Hall and uh as poor people were all immensely proud of that and of course these are scenes that are going to be repeated through the 2005 season it’s incredible it’s 12 months ago only two of the riders that were riding um 12
Months ago are here in this team so it’s a completely rebuilt team and of course there were mid-season adjustments but certainly this uh pool uh promotion team uh the uh if you like the secret weapon they know how to put a championship team together and here they are 12 months on
And uh I just I can see them continuing to rain I mean they talk about the the man united of Speedway well I mean we are the pool Pirates has been right because we’re setting the place for the other clubs around the sport and with the sort of media coverage we’re getting
These days it’s uh fireworks try and drown this out it celebrations all the way here tonight wonderful stuff great to see I don’t think the fireworks will be able to drown out these fans they’ve waited long and hard for this they’ve wanted it now they’ve got it served up on a plate for
Them and uh the scenes here are just marvelous to see it the ride is clearly absolutely over the moon with this yeah the looks on their faces tell it all up there you know these Riders they travel you know I don’t know how they do it quite honestly they’re all over Europe
The whole time their schedules are impossible we’ve already seen you know the the schedules have taken the toll on Tony Rickards in the season but Ryan Sullivan has come in uh to take his place but these Riders there flying constantly around Europe Poland Sweden Denmark and all the Grand Prix circuits
And lots of other open meetings and uh and yet here they are freshers of Daisy end of the season lapping it up it’s absolutely wonderful and great teams well we’ve got a lot to look forward still because although it may be the end of the season for just about every other
Team in the elite League pool in Ipswich have got a score to settle yes we’re looking forward to seeing that of course we’ve got another Edition our Edition number seven will tell that story and we hope that people will enjoy seeing that because we’re looking forward to the
Ipswich which is coming down here and let’s hope that we can serve out the same kind of Fate to them yes well it’s uh what has been become known as the double double can the Pirates do the double double league and cut two seasons running well on the form they’ve shown
Tonight I wouldn’t really I wouldn’t rule anything out it’s just wonderful and there goes the trophy over to the karate Magnus getting as close as he can and he’s enjoying every moment of this and why not well I think we’re all enjoying it let’s enjoy it together then
As the Pirates finally parade the 2004 Elite League trophy foreign [Applause] [Applause] [Applause] foreign fantastic result for you yeah it’s really brilliant you know you know it was hard meeting but we try our best and we beat them very much and I’m very glad you know that’s my first trophy in England and I’m really proud that it’s happened in pool fantastic thank you [Applause] [Applause]
