Look at the wear on those center knobs. The material appears to be faulty. If I’d just seen a pic of the crumbly tire wear, I’d have guessed it was 10 or 15 years old.

Looks like you did a lot of skidding on a low end tire. Also, what pressure did you pump the tire to? using the wrong pressure, either too high or too low can be bad for the tire.

In the Uk you should get a refund according to The Consumer Rights Act 2015 which states that items must be of satisfactory quality, as described, fit for purpose and last a reasonable length of time. other countries will have different laws but a tyre should last more than 2 rides
