I pride myself on being a good BMX builder.
But I’ve always struggled with rejoining half link chains and it has always been slow, frustrating, and luck based.
Until peeps on here explained that there are dedicated half link chain breakers that actually work better on half link chains. I had always assumed a chain breaker was a chain breaker. All thkse years of struggle, for nothing! 🤣
So having tried a friend’s halflink chain breaker, I’ve ordered my own.
I decided to order the Shadow Mini Tool too. I didn’t like the look of the more complex multi-tool they offer. It seemed to me that would be far less effective than just owning all the tools, which I do.
But I’ve gone back to pegs for the first time in years and I thought it might be good to have a portable wrench to carry.
I have to say I am seriously impressed with this simple tool. Perfect for axle nuts, plus offers the two allen key sizes for everything but the smaller things such as seat post clamp and brakes if you have them (I don’t).
It feels really strong and sturdy, and would also be a good self defence item if needed 😄
So between this Mini Tool and my chain breaker I could probably build a BMX without cracking open my toolbox!
Really impressed. I thought it would be weak-ass junk. It’s sturdy stuff!
