A little bit to wet your whistle… a look, albeit very brief, at a verrrry special Yamaha RD350 based special. Motor bored up to 496cc and mated with a Triumph 675 Daytona rolling chassis..
The video of the bike running is only short but I aim to share more when I get it! Can’t wait for the weather to improve so I can arrange a go on this beauty… anyway enjoy!

Hello and welcome back to my channel um thank you for support so far um I really been going since July last year and nearly on quarter of a million views already so that’s been absolutely fantastic for just a bit of a bike nerd putting videos about bikes out so thank

You very much um I’m trying to work on a few ideas as far as uh reviews and road tests go and a few bits and pieces have come out I know it’s not exactly 44 teeth but I’m working on it all right stick with me and we’ll um see where we

Go from there I’m trying to keep it a bit more realistic I’m no hero I just enjoy bikes and like to talk about them anyway moving on um today I want to have have a look at a rather special two-stroke uh that I’ve stumbled across which I’m hopefully

Going to be getting a go on at some point in the new year uh it started Life as a yamar Rd and its current owner has developed it into something a little bit special you’ll have to bear with me there’s not much footage of it at the

Moment I’m hoping to get more to put out but I thought just put what I’ve got out there as a bit of a teaser at the moment um they’ve also sent me a few photographs of a bike during its state of build and how it looks now so I

Thought I’d share those with you to enjoy just kind of wet your whistle uh to have a look at what is coming uh soon hopefully anyway enjoy it uh wherever you are stay safe and yeah if you’ve got any ideas of bikes or anything you’d

Like to see covered drop me a line I’ll put the email in the bio below but enjoy wherever you are stay safe take care Bye well this special bike doesn’t really have a name uh it’s owned by Jason Thompson up in Wakefield uh basically the engine is a yamar Rd 350 ypvs the chassis rolling chassis is from a Triumph data owner 675 suspension front and rear is taken care of by mapo obviously at both ends quite

An accomplished suspension brand now the bike has been built from the ground up by Jason as a road legal but very very track focused bike the rd50 engine has been Bor up to 496cc there are no power vals on it and Jason informs me it’s kicking out 104

Brake horsepower at the rear whe uh and he plans on to improve on this over winter power delivery between 20 5 and 80 brake horsepower appears in a th000 th000 RPM window so to try and ride it on the roads this time of year it would

Probably be sketchy at best so I think we’re going to try and leave that until the new year before I get a go on it uh as far as the bik goes I mean wow what a special piece of Kit as you can see everything has been made bespoke for it

Uh 35 mm pwk carbs ignitech ignition profiber gp2 fairings uh Jason has his own custom Loom custom cable custom mounts uh cradles Etc the pipes as you can see they are completely um custom for this bike I mean what a stunner I’m sure you’ll agree um I can’t wait to get a go

  1. I love this. I put a KTM 510 4stroke in a FZR-400 Cassis. I race it in WERA from time to time. There is a lot of work doing these type of swaps! A whole lot!

  2. I'm a two-strokealcoholic.
    Love the big ones.
    Raced the RZ-350.
    A drop in RD-400 crank,
    rods, and pistons.
With the YPVS, limits the engine capacity.
I've seen LRD engines, at 565cc, but could only run on racing fuel. (no YPVS)
Still needs a dry-plate racing clutch.
    Maybe a;'cub' motor 425.?!?(100 hp)
    Had a '81' 465 (YZ)
Blew it up in a spectacular fashion.
    Bought a 77 RD-400,
(Green) but it was crashed. Soooo
Put the RD engine, in the YZ chassis.
Called it my "Desart Sled" ( grew up in the Coachella Valley CA.)
