Good morning everyone! today I or this morning I am in Dundee um down at the water here’s a V&A here. I have no idea what we’re going to get this morning I don’t have much
Time before I start work but um have not been here in a long time I was up here for University um a lot has changed of the city also a lot has maybe changed for the not so good, but sections like this are looking are looking really great.
I don’t know what photography it will offer will it be the usual stuff will have to be different probably. yeah let’s let’s see let’s see how it got on honestly no idea what I want to take images of but let’s get some settings in and let’s get started
I think because it’s just past 7 A.M just going to stick with auto shutter speeds and let’s just stay at 5.6. There is no personality in the sky anywhere overcast. no Morning Light nothing. so this will be hard we need to rely on subjects to shine rather than the
Lights to help us which is a real shame um but first off we have this ID 4 charging which is looking really cool where is the angle??? where is the angle? is it a combination of it with this chrome box is it
Viewing it from the complete other sides so we have the water and the bridge? yeah it’s the water in the bridge yeah exactly okay standard car shot here we come double check it actually worked and it did it awesome I know food trucks are a little bit of low hanging fruit but
Let’s see it may look really nice because of the building in the background and this tree this Frame Up This Little Italian van grab the focus [Music] oh I’m liking the VW from this angle with the nice architecture thing in the background something focus on the front Frame Up [Music]
Grab the cyclist if he comes through foreign Any sunlight I mean I love this office in this triangle that you can see Do not disturb the duckies okay now you have a space like this obviously the best thing to do is to use it but have a subject it’s not something I’m overly keen and experienced on but that is good but normally cyclists come
Down here and come around this corner but it is very early still so I don’t think that’ll happen so let’s just concentrate in the building and if we get lucky we get lucky and it’ll probably be very loud out here so my apologies if the audio was terrible
Never know we might I might get someone appearing to fill this space should be cool like this lady Okay that was cool I would have loved that to be in a cyclist but he’s must actions am I any good at Reflections probably not let’s see what’s going on the ship let’s move up to f8 These triangular lines frame the ship okay let’s move more into Dundee City Center which is not looking its best but maybe we shouldn’t get the ship a bit more maybe that’s better yeah focusing on the exhaust it if that’s what it is I have no idea what that is using the reflections [Music]
Trying I suppose there’s a standards VNA image here somewhere Or even this entrance oh here we go cyclist we’re too far away let’s frame them up [Music] Epic fail um let’s get it over to the actual City Center okay we’re back in the City Center I suppose this is where I was staying last night in this hotel here yeah let’s see what we can get and again it’s it’s
Not looking incredible uh Dundee at the moment but let’s see see what we can get out of this [Music] thank you um because it’s red and because the distance between us in the building but other than that there’s that was probably a terrible image Foreign [Music] I think what this will give us is just quite a lot of weird slightly depressing images to be honest um I don’t think that’s a bad thing it’s just I mean if you look at this Alleyway here with all the air con units and the not very niceness I mean
Is that all it’s got to offer probably the street let’s go a little bit further in just to frame it yeah it’s not looking good I suppose some people would ask like I’ve always done the ever looked good and I would say yeah having been here off and on for four years probably about five years ago it felt a lot better but then again obviously covered was in the
Way this Mini’s nice because I used to have this color of minion high class Gray foreign Building an archery last night um that was kind of in my mind was begging to be photographed because it just looks so weird and simple let’s stand straight in front of it and Frame It Up I don’t even know what it’s for but the shutter was down last night which
Made it a little bit better looking yeah I don’t know how much of that is in frame but I don’t know if my 23 mil will give me the distance that I need but yeah it doesn’t really but maybe it’s something that’s like the stairway here is the actual interesting bit yeah
And at the corner of my area so another depressing scene I’ll just alleyway I wonder if a camera in here well this is where I’d actually use my screen which I’ve never used the next 100s to frame up how would I even do that
View mode display back yeah well I’ve never used this what horrible waiting images I think it’s super dark I’m gonna have to rest it on the metal [Music] okay enough of that that was horrible information view modes it’s eye sensor you know what let’s go these stairs see where they leads foreign
Graduated from Alberta University and my game design production management degree nice building for sure but I’ll be honest absolutely nothing that excites me or interests me visually I mean look at them look at the mess of it’s not good to be complaining
About stuff but shopping center with big horrible building behind it up here with these buildings with half their Windows covered up for I assume storage or whatever it’s just I don’t like anyone we want to get the beds to come and walk around somewhere like this um
Anyway let’s take a random street and see how we got on Happy give up we give up there’s always surprises in cities right um I suppose that we’re really silly to ignore it’s a comic book characters from Dundee especially these Cults bronze sculptures
I wonder if this one ever had the string I was always missing just for the imagination anyway I suppose he wants to be an [ __ ] about it um Dundee does not have an Apple store so whatever that means not populated enough not enough people who want such a thing that
Um it’s not Glasgow it’s not Edinburgh Scotland’s work this now we’re at the hill am I going I have never been here before and that’s probably a good thing it’s definitely go up Russian fuse at this you know what there’s stuff here there’s there’s colorful doors and there’s
Very odd architecture let’s frame up this blue door [Music] inspiring situation can you imagine if this was you know it’s like one of those things you go to like Rome or something or Paris like if you’re not from there like everything is interesting
And I wonder if that’s just how this is um let’s frame up this horrible Vauxhall [Music] oh I don’t think anyone would maybe come to think this stuff special looking and I quite like this verticality of this big exhaust second thing I use the word exhaust this morning looks like [Music]
Oh a fire escape can’t go wrong with fire escape it leads to about a colorful door like a teal door my question here is to frame the ground with the image yeah because the sky has got no detail at all [Music]
Maybe this is the right choice because I’m actually taking some photographs here I mean even up here you’ve got this little red door this little bin hiding this little um cubby holes interesting Red Door first [Music] good measure [Music] terrible image but anyway
A colorful door and a skip satellite dishes and aircon units is that interesting [Music] film right where every image is a pound sign I’d love to know if anyone can see any images I’m really missing here at scenes like this Maybe people more architecture mines or whatever I would see something I can’t see thank you all right which way to go let’s go towards the D.C Thompson Building
I know a lot of people would be thinking this is really cool looking and worth photographing but I honestly doesn’t do anything for me at all yeah let’s go down here because this again this is next to the DC Thompson Building this big building in front of us generally attracts semi-interesting people
And obviously I’m biased at saying that as in semi-interesting people who have vehicles I know so they’ve done up all the roads and stuff around here so it might look a bit sharper yeah let’s frame up this BMW against the sandstone [Music] that might not actually be terrible
Oh my feet have gone off sticky on this ground I think it’s from the trees an iron Brew advertisement on a on a wall that seems worth pressing a button for Yeah there’s my old University might head up that way just to end kind of interested in this Subaru with this building behind it um oh man on bike [Applause] they want to get this lady child in a shot because I’m not too keen on that stuff but she’s leaving
Maybe the Volvo and the Subaru is actually shot let’s back up a bit [Applause] yeah I think here it needs to be a car and the building together to really make a strong shot I don’t think the vehicles alone can um survive the image
Although they’re super with this little doorway here might be very cool let’s get a bit closer Just frame it up a bit better yeah like this let’s get a little down One thing I was hoping for is Dundee actually has quite a large um sort of electric scooter an electric bike scene due to being in a University Town or whatever um so yesterday I did see an awful lot of yeah people using electric vehicles which
May not mean anything but um they’re not actually legal here so uh at least there’s time recording this I’m not legal in the UK um if even Dundee I’ve done the even classes itself as a UK haven’t to be honest um
Yeah kind of drawn to this lots of Citroen with the nice stone walls behind it probably isn’t really an image here but Barack streets Where to go where to go right one last try up at the University and I think we’ll call it a morning one of those things is probably end up being one of the most boring and terrible image sort
Of producing air filter locks yet but it’s always about a try because it’s not always sunshine in Paris photography is it sometimes it’s overcast on a Tuesday Morning in Dundee and this is meant to be summer right here no sometimes that’s out as
It’s either making no images or making images I think I’d rather especially for before starting work um I think I’d rather make some images yeah here’s my old University on there on the right over yeah highly recommend him if you want to working games coming through Aberdeen in Scotland
And I don’t think you’d be disappointed especially if you put in effort yourself which is a weird thing to say it loud because obviously you’d put an effort yourself but um some people really do not
If you’re proactive and do stuff outside of uni then I think a degree here is a very good thing I’m really not sure there’s going to be anything of Interest up here but let’s try [Music] foreign Wow why is this big metal thing here that’s so weird anyway I see an image here which might be our last of this rather depressing car park dystopian focus on the little ticket box and then frame up the this concrete in these lights Man it’s still a little light here anyway let’s see what that was these pillars are so weird yeah there’s no image here that’s an interesting one okay I feel that was a little bit of a fail but um but yeah thank you for following on with me um
