I have not been riding the last 4 years, until recently, I took out my 2016 Tarmac fitted with Ultegra and Fulcrum Racing Zero wheels.
It feels really good to be riding again, but looking around, it seems like everyone is riding with electronic drivetrains, disc brakes, and wider tires.
I have no issues with my current Tarmac, other than it feels a little harsh, but this is probably because I am not yet comfortable with the geomtery and because of the weight I gained during the last few years.
I don’t race or anything, but if the new tech helps with comfort, or makes me ride/climb a little faster it would surely make me ride more often.
The [Canyon Ultimate CF SL 7 AXS](https://www.canyon.com/en-kr/road-bikes/race-bikes/ultimate/cf-sl/ultimate-cf-sl-7-axs/3557.html) looks good to me, although I heard that the wheels are not the best.
Would I feel any difference if I change my bike to a Canyon Ultimate CF SL 7 AXS or something similar?

Riding more often is the thing that will make you more comfortable and ride/climb faster.
If you’ve got tons of disposable income and know you’re going to be getting back on the horse for a long time instead of a summer fling, then yes, some of the newer gadgets might make things feel a little nicer – but if you’ve already got a decent frame, wheels, and ultegra the difference isn’t going to be huge. They’re not going to make you faster, or more skilled, or more comfortable though unless you want a less racy geometry.
You might be able to put wider tires on your current bike for more comfort. Disc brakes are a pretty big difference but shouldn’t matter if you’re mostly riding in dry weather. Other than that, you’re the engine and the biggest difference will come from you.
