I recently bought a bike used, it’s in great condition considering. I just need help with learning the ins and outs.

I know I need a wider seat, I think I got a shorter bike than I was suppose to get. I did research based on my height, or maybe I just haven’t adjusted it.

Does anyone have any pointers on how I can mitigate the height difference?

I also wanted to add a trailer/trolley thing for my nephews any suggestions. I am on a budget but will save up for a trailer/trolley that’s worth the investment.

You will be able to adjust the height of the seat. There will either be a bolt or lever where the bike frame attaches to the seat post and after loosening it you’ll be able to raise the seat. There should be some marking a couple of inches from the end telling you not to raise the post any further, if there isn’t then make your own marking at least 3″ from the end of the post so that you know not to raise it any more than that.

You also should be able to adjust your seat so that it can be a bit more forward or back. The seat will be attached to the post with a pair of rails that are clamped. If you loosen the clamp then you can move the seat so that it is more comfortable for you.

A trailer is a good idea, but try to find a used one if possible. People who buy them only need them for a couple of years before their kids get too big so there’s little point buying a new one. If you’re not always going to be keeping the trailer attached then make sure it is easy to remove. Different makes will have varying difficulty for removing the trailer.
