You’re not supposed to change gears and pedal backwards
Some bikes are ok to pedal backwards. You are really expecting a lot of your bike to pedal backwards AND shift gears. It is fine.
Derailleurs aren’t designed to allow gear changing when pedalling backwards, but if you’re not changing gears then pedalling backwards should be fine.
Thats pretty normal for 12-speed drivetrains.
It’s not an issue. Consider this- when in your biggest gear, the chain has to angle from the front sprocket to the back. When pedaling forward, the chain is guided into alignment with the derailleur. When pedaling backwards, there is nothing to guide it, so it drops.
Try not to pedal backwards in the largest gears. All my bikes do this in the biggest 2 gears when pedaling backwards. Smaller gears where the chain is less angled you can pedal backwards all day and it’ll be fine as long as the derailed is setup properly.
No company would allow a bike to not be pedaled backwards….do not listen to those that say different. Next, my bet is a slightly bent derailleur hanger…but it definitely needs to be re-adjusted. If you don’t know how…it will be money well spent at a bike shop
Looking at the video closer I see the chain falls off the top gear before the derailer moves. I noticed that it happened right after the master link on the chain. I’d check the chain for stiffness and make sure you gear has not bent teeth.
I had this issue because I needed a chainring with more offset towards the bottom bracket
