Client’s bike. Came to my shop with an Altus Mtb derailleur with a Sora Sti 2V shifter. Also a double chainring Alivio.
At first, I tried ti make the original Altus derailleur and Sora Shifter work, but I couldn’t as it has a different wire-pull ratio. Now my boss (a dick) asked to swap the mtb derailleur for a Sora from a road group.
The issue now is that the pull from the shifter isn’t enough to get to the bigger chainring. My gut tells me it just isn’t compatible but I’ve been asked to “make it work”.
As you see in the last pic, that’s as far as the derailleur can go with the “H” limit free. Any ideas/suggestions?

Look after the cranks chainline and of the front derailleur. When it fit it works.
2 speed front deraileue should work across mtb and road.
On 3 speed it has a big difference in the cable pull.
List the modell numbers of the parts
The [JTek Shiftmate 7](http://www.jtekengineering.com/shiftmate/shiftmate-7/) is designed to adjust pull ratio between MTB and road FD for both double and triple cranks. They can be difficult to get in North America
I have a shimano mtb derailleur with mtb cranks and microshift 9 speed brifters with the same pull ratios as sora. 38/22. It works.
Maybe a bit funny i would try it out. If it fits the same speed in road and mtb i would try

What kind of bike? Touring, road or hybrid?
What crankset?
