A soccer ball is a great thing to take on tour. I don’t play but am jealous as a friend with whom I traveled was able to play pickup games all over the world, language barriers be damned.

Whatever allows you to ride long.
If you are going to put a bunch of weight on it (bags, panniers, etc) you might want to ask your bike shop if the rims can handle that type of weight and mileage.

Buy a Nalgene water bottle! They work as wonderful rollers.
