I wax the chains. I will recommend using effeto mariposa, flower power… friction cycling did loads of tests… I did mine recently and liked how I finally had no rust… the salt is a killer…
That's nothing, take a mountain bike on a trail for half an hour and you could rebuild you garden , last time I rode my suspension got full of water and locked up

Is that grime from road salt/grit? I actually enjoy cleaning my bike after a ride. I just put some music on in the garage and start cleaning.
