Is there a way around breaking spokes on ledges? I have the Gsport Rolaway with stock hub guard and it still dinged the hub and cut a spoke off. Spokes were double butted. Ledges are my bread/butter since I’m afraid of gravity.

Not really, that’s just bad luck and placement of wheel as much as anything. Double butted spokes aren’t stronger I should point out. You could run a gsport gland guard, they’re just massive frisby’s that cover the spokes.

Yeah if you land on your peg instead. I find it weird that the hub guard isn’t guarding the hub tho.

Of all things to break on a bike at least spokes are cheap to replace.

hub is guarded, spokes are brokes. spokes ≠ hub

I think in time, you will just hit the hub less and peg more.

Something not on right? Where you hit should definitely be covered by the guard.

Suck less and improve your skills.

It’s always the spokes with the most part on the outside of the hub that I’ve ever broken grinding. Breaking one like that and with the damage to the hub looks like a lot of things all lined up and went wrong at once! Bit of broken ledge sticking out exactly where you landed or something.

I got the uni guard from gsport and it metal and covers the hub and spokes very well
