Basket is about $4 and the mounting hardware about $6 but you could do this even cheaper with zip ties – don’t know how secure it would be. I initially used a larger, heavier basket from Daiso that also folds but decided the extra weight/bulk was not worth keeping it on my bike full time (can still use it for certain occasions). This one is barely noticeable and my seat clears the top of it.
Petty theft is very high in my area so anything I put into my bike setup I need to be OK with the possibility of losing it. That’s why I didn’t want to invest in a $50+ basket that could get stolen. This one is cheap but it works and if it gets stolen I’m out $10.
It looks like it’s bulging in the picture but I just didn’t click the sides in well enough. It’s sturdy enough for my use case. The weight was really comfortable.
