I picked up my first bmx in quite a few years. 6 to be exact. Its a fitbikeco. Dugan level 1. I was wondering if i bother with gyro brakes or just put on normal brakes like ive been seeing on this sub?
gyro are good are good planning to do barspins and stuff if not normal would work

I’ve never cared for them, probably because I suck at fine tuning them but I’ve never felt the need for one anyway.

A gyro can be annoying to set up but if you want to spin your bars a lot and also have brakes that’s the way to go! That said, no brakes will really make sure you have good riding form. Brakes can lead to a lot of bad habits. I’ve always had brakes and have a lot of bad habits but I’m in too deep to go brakeless. I don’t wanna take the time haha

I like gyros, but I know how to set em up. They’re pretty easy, really- but if you’re not gonna do a ton of bars and stuff they’re not critical.
