So the first photo is brakes off and second one is brakes on but my issue is that in both photos the left hand side of the brake isn’t moving at all/releasing. I’ve tried everything from re setting the distance of the pads from the wheel at which the cable gets crimped and also tightening and loosening the nut that crimps the cable. Any ideas would be much appreciated. The wheel still spins but there’s still friction which slows the wheel when it’s just free to spin but I’m not sure if this would be an issue when going to actually ride it.

The bike looks pretty old. Take the brake apart and give it a clean and some grease on the pivot points. Should make it work better.
