One of the many perks of being a pro cyclist is that you get to ride the best bikes and the latest tech that’s not to say that things can’t go wrong with them from time to time we present to you some of the most nightmarish Mechanicals you’ve ever seen

We’ll start at the very beginning and ruy cost’s tour to romendy couldn’t have begun much worse oh what’s happened there the chain ring has come off well if that’s happened on the start ramp he’s going to the clock is going to be counting oh he’s going to banged his knee as well

Well this is absolutely awful oh that’s an awful situation shearing the bolts off his chain ring on the very first pedal stroke and having to complete the rest of his prologue on a normal road bike while picking up an understandably sore KN to boot from standing start to full chap

Now and one of the more modern mechanical ailments a rear deria battery failure now we’re only a few minutes into this video and we already need a disclaimer don’t try this at home we’d say sep cus is a trained professional that knows exactly what he’s doing but

Honestly I’m not so sure oh no no no don’t put your hand there SE don’t put your hand there SE of course it’s lunacy to try and fix your own bike while traveling at 60 km an hour but apparently getting your mechanic to do it out of the back window

Of the team car is absolutely fine fast forward to a little later on in that jro and perhaps the worst possible time for a mechanical is going up a steep climb with a grand tour title on the line that’s exactly what happened to Pros RIT

Shades of L plch to Bell fee 2020 must have been flashing through his mind no no no no no no it had to happen again didn’t it and the nightmare of the mountain time trial Primo rogich gains have just gone up in smoke luckily he finished well ahead of the time of Garen

Thomas and went on to win the euro rogl is going to take the stage win on stage 20 at the jro gide Thomas loses the jro Italia after 106 editions the Jalia has a Slovenian winner Okay I lied this is the worst time to have a mechanical when you’re

Posting up for the victory not realizing that the actual winner already crossed the line nearly 2 minutes earlier he thinks he’s oh BR hits the deck in the moment of Celebration I’m not sure he was celebrating second I suspect he thought he’d won the race that’s going

To be a sore one for Edward prades in so many ways but it’s nice to see he was okay and took it all in good Grace from the sunny island of C to the hell of the north now and if any thing’s going to break it’ll probably happen in

The forest of arenburg at paru Bay oh that is not good a chess tell you get out of the way quickly you need ability but you need the winning lottery ticket in this race and unfortunately for Derek G he’d have a lengthy weight for service on that treacherous piece of

PVE it won’t take a genius to tell you that Parry Ru gets even worse for the Riders when it’s wet 2021s par rubet was the ultimate test in Riders equipment and called for some rather inventive solutions to some fairly integral bike functionality you know like the ability to slow

Down the wheels went one way and his body went the other now this one is just a plain mystery how did Hugo hoffstetter managed to do this to his bike not once but twice in the same race and he’s still on that bike no he BR it’s the

Other side it’s the other side oh my what an unlucky day it is indeed this is his spare bike there’s no no number on it so he also wrecked his spare bike that same ailment happened just the once to Matthew vandero 2 years prior at Lin his problem was that it happened right

Before the finish with him still up at the front of the race looks here like he did just about all he could have done in the circumstances doing a final turn before ducking out safely with his teammate going on to win the Sprint it all turned out well in the

End things started so well for Neil’s pollet here he got himself into a really strong Breakaway group at the tour to France no less but then it all goes wrong the ultimate showstopper a broken chain and his team carart is stuck all the way back in the Convoy behind the

Pelaton which means only one thing a dreaded visit from neutral service now these guys actually do a great job helping the riders in situations just like this but these days it does take a little while to find the right pedals also that bike does look a touch too small for the rangy German

Rider sometimes you just have to accept when it isn’t your day there you have it some of the unluckiest mechanical disasters ever to Beall the pro pelaton have you had anything like this happen on your ride let us know in the comments section down Below

  1. I think it's quite unlikely that all the major mechanicals happened in the last 3 years.
"Ever" doesn't mean the very recent past, does it?
Would've been better if you only listed the ones of 2023, like the title says.

  2. Its not from the peloton but wasn't there a MTB start where someone's BB structure completely went to the deck leaving a gaping hole where the BB should be?

  3. New Year's Resolutions:

    1. Stay on my diet plan and drop from 216 pounds to 178 pounds. So far I have lost 10 pounds in 16 days.

    2. Join a local peloton once this summer.

  4. Punctures aren't mechnicals…..Not sure why cycling views them as such. In motorsport, you'd never call a puncture a mechnical…..it's a tyre issue, not mechnical.
