Cycling to the highest point in Belgium

Hello hello cycling friends this is francisco from bicycle picnic with another micro cycling adventure this time i’m doing a winter ride in the east side of belgium close to the border with germany most of the ride is in the high fence natural park the ride starts in

The town of open and gets quickly into the natural part the right is going to climb up and cross the hyphens to this point over here which is the highest point in belgium at 694 meters so this is not like a mountain it’s more like a plateau and

There’s nothing much in this area but a beautiful view of the high fence natural park and i think there is a cafe and and this road here so this point is called signal depot there is also a park in here so people drive here and go for walks and hikes

Around this area and from this point i’m going to go all the way down to the town of malmedy this section is very beautiful but quite busy because this is a very popular walk between the signal de botrons and malmedy so i think doing it in winter is actually a good idea

Because probably there’s going to be less people walking i’ve done it in summer and it’s pretty busy then after my media i’m going to take a cycling path for ravel from almighty to the town of tuapun and this is going to be a very chill 15 kilometers ride so i’m going

All the way to 12 because i can take the train here to the city of lies and then back to brussels so the whole ride is about 60 kilometers so it’s not too long but there is probably gonna be a lot of snow and it’s gonna be really cold
