Couldn’t come up with a better title, since I have multiple questions on different topics. I order a [Giant TCR Advanced 0](https://www.giant-bicycles.com/de/tcr-advanced-0-2022) and got it a few days ago.

1. I noticed that the front wheel grinds and after visting YouTube and adjusting the brake discs, it went away (I also noticed that the screws which held the brakes in place were relatively lose…)
2. I noticed that the rear wheel also grinds (**but only at specific part** of the wheel) and I’m starting to wonder: is this normal? It’s a brand new bike which was build and shipped to me (ordered through a reseller) and both brakes grind? I didn’t fix it yet, but will do so today…need to check YouTube how it’s done.
3. At the rear of my bike I got this plastic disc (see the album linked below), which apparently prevents the chain to fall into the rim. Is this really needed? On Giants homepage no plastic disc is seen. Furthermore taking a look from the top it looks like the chain will never fit on the large cassette given the amount of space between the large cassette and the plastic disc (see the last picture in the album linked below)?

I uploaded some pictures here: [https://imgur.com/a/mwh9SK6](https://imgur.com/a/mwh9SK6)

Thank you for helping me out.

  1. 1. Not sure what the question is here. One mistake many new people make with bikes is tightening bolts too much. Get a torque wrench and tighten down the bolts to spec, not to what you think the correct torque is.

    2. If it’s only happening at a specific part of the wheel that’s a good sign that the rotor is bent. This is very easy to happen during shipping. Same with the front rotor.

    3. you can remove the plastic disc if you want. Commonly called a dork disc. Easiest way is to take the rear wheel out and pull the freehub off, then just pull the dork disc off the wheel. Push the freehub back on as you rotate it counter clockwise
