Of course what was your highlight of the year that’s a bit of a leading question I’m aware yeah he’s not easy to choice but I would say in the end my European tit title was nice and uh yeah still we have a lot of very nice memory with the
Team what a year it’s been for the entire team as well what has it been like for you in the middle of it all yeah when you look back it’s quite incredible what we did last year what we achieved and uh yeah I’m very proud to
Be to be part of this team and we will try to do to do the best for the next seasons I your best is excellent Kristoff thank you very much I’m going to ask you to pass this now to Ava van AR who’s behind you you’re going to have
To maybe throw that again lovely wether over um welcome to you today I have noticed looking around the room not all of the women’s team is here where are the rest of your colleagues and teammates today um we had a couple positive tests on training camp unfortunately but yeah we call the The
Hunger Games there’s still a couple people surviving so yeah and I think uh it’s also not the worst thing they won’t get it in season so yeah Co is still here um congratulations on Surviving hunger game so far ever what has been your highlight of 2023 um well first of
All it was my first spring season ever so already starting races like Strada Le the was super special but if I have to go with one moment it was winning the team time trial in lava it’s just a super special discipline with very strong teammates although a little
Traumatizing I got dropped halfway but uh no on these fast bikes I’m just more motivated than ever to get better in this discipline and yeah something I’ll forever remember it’s such a special discipline to win isn’t it all together as a team yes yeah EV thank you so much
Indeed I’m going to ask you to pass to meno heising night just in front of you well done meno told me earlier he was a very good Catcher And thrower as well as Ryder so youve proved that night congratulations from the development team then what’s your highlight of 2023
Being um I think my victory in fles out this year and uh the Joo next gen with the entire team yeah there been a few highlights to choose from if you can keep the the catch box up nice and high thank you um and you have signed a new
Contract as well tell me about that yes signed a pro contract from 2025 till 2027 with the witer team that’s something to look forward to isn’t it yeah definitely excellent well we’ll be looking ahead to the year ahead in just a moment thank you so much indeed if you
Could pass over from uh a newbie on the team so to not so newbie Robert hessin Robert lovely to have you here again you’ve been with this team since forever this is your final team presentation though how does that feel yeah it feels about right uh I think uh
It’s been um 18 or it’s going to be 18th season so it’s been 17 really nice Seasons so far and I’m ready to to give it all and to make it a a really nice last 18th season and um I know it will be difficult to do as well as we did
Last year but uh definitely I will I hope to be part of many successes again the upcoming season yeah it’s only going to be difficult because you did so incredibly well last year you were a part of the successful Welter team of course what was that like for you
Um yeah that’s definitely really special um winning the vaa with this team for the fourth uh fourth time and this time one to three five stages well yeah I can only uh you can only imagine how special that is uh at a certain point there were not many colleagues saying
Congratulations anymore in the bunch I can tell you towards towards the end of of the VTA so um no it it was really nice and um as I said it will be difficult to do as well as we did last year but um aiming again at a really
Nice wela and uh would be a really nice uh race to to to end my professional career well enjoy your last dance we’ll enjoy watching you I’m going to set these down and ask you to throw that back to me I don’t trust myself to hold
On to those and this at the same time thank you very much total of six9 phenomenal one of the most successful teams in the entire world of sport in 2023 Richard I should sorry introduce all of you first of all not that many of you need introducing of
Course we have Richard pler we have yonas vingo Marine Zan and sepkus on the stage for us Richard how many times did you pinch yourself last year a couple of times um but I saw this video uh after the the world I think and then I had to shed a tear because it’s
Really emotional because uh you know we have so so many incredible people we work with and and uh we not only have the coach of Netherlands but we have the coach of the world Maran zon he was not elected last yesterday as coach of the Netherlands but I think he he uh
Deserves a big round of applause for being the coach of the world Richard I’m quite glad to hear that you shed a here if I’m totally honest because I sit in my position and I listen to all of you talking very professionally and it’s all about the process and it’s very methodical and
It’s moving on to the next step and the next step and rarely do we get that Glimpse I guess into how much it matters to your heart to your soul to your passion to your emotion but this has been a huge year for you hasn’t it yeah
It was it was uh you know uh very uh many UPS of course also some Downs maybe also in private uh my mother passed away for example early this year and so you know you go through a roller coaster of emotions and yeah like I said working together and and having all these
Successes it’s it’s incredible it’s emotional yeah and this all started 10 years ago with Team Blanco what is the secret of the success that you know enjoy I’m sure everyone watching and all the other teams would like to know certainly I think uh being a bit crazy
Helps you know we do uh we work really hard maybe too hard sometimes and uh you know marine and and myself are right after winning the tour to friends already thinking what can we do better next year here so um yeah you have to be yeah somewhere a little bit crazy to to
Do it and I think that’s the biggest because we need the passion the motivation the discipline to to keep up the good work every day not me but the rest of the team and everybody is putting in that uh so uh so strong and all the people in
The team not not only me and and and Marine but everybody and and you know that’s that’s what we need and I think that’s the secret you know having having an eye for the person in the in the team the the the boys and and the girls were
You know just persons also so for us it’s really important that we not only have the process and and look at it as uh as robots or what have you but also there’s an incredible perfect guy sitting next to me so we have an eye for
That we get that perfect guy in just a moment I’m going to jump across to Marine first of all though Marine you’re team has started to enjoy phenomenal success in the last couple of years LED as Richard says by you but could you and your wild streams truly have imagined
Three grand Tours in the one year surely not yeah you see that that picture or or behind yeah it’s um now for sure we we could not ever imagine that that that this would happen um uh but in the end it was also actually um also when we were preparing
The season uh last year and when you have fantastic Riders like we have um if you ask yonas or if you asked Primos or or sep like yeah what’s the ambition they will not say like yeah we go for second place or third place or Podium so
They have the ambition to win um um and and that’s of course like what we then start working together and then but when we were naming all these goals and and making all the programs um yeah in the end when we when we look to the to the
Goals of the year actually the worst ending um three grand Tours um as winning as a goal and Y forai said it earlier he’s uh one of the coaches of the of the of the women’s team um he got a little bit angry he said like this is
Not realistic anymore and uh well we should stay humble I said yeah your I agree but uh I think this is the outcome of a lot of sessions and then when actually when we won the WTA I was in Madrid and he was the first guy I was
Texting like sorry for for setting these goals but in the end it worked out your fan endon where are you ye of little faith we’ll get to you in just a bit um but here we sit having made sporting history it must feel absolutely incredible yeah absolutely and and I
Think it’s um yeah like I say we have we have a fantastic Riders group but also like all the people uh around um yeah they work so so passionate every day and was a shared goal for for all of us and uh and that we can just say like that
That we achieved this I mean we want we have still a lot of Ambitions for the coming years but I think we uh yeah when we look back anyway like that that this is ever happened it it fulfills us all with a lot of Pride and uh yeah that
That’s something what what will never go away anymore yeah yeah it’s incredible as indeed has been your year once again yonas double tur to France Champion now was it easier or more difficult to defend that title this time around yeah in one way it was was easier because now
We won it already but of course there’s a lot of pressure on as the defending Champion but uh as I also said before it would be like uh even if we didn’t win it again then we could still retire in many years and say that yeah that we won
It and um that made at least my mind more more yeah easy and and then it’s it’s easier going into the to the tour which was more fun is fun the wrong word to use I’m guessing which one of them yeah um yeah it’s hard it’s not fun to
Win or at least the process no I think maybe maybe this year um was really good fight I had with with tday uh very intense fight I would say every day was was about the seconds for for two weeks uh was very very close he was very
Strong and and yeah I was also very strong strong and then yeah on the time trial was was uh I made the difference there and again the day after but I think that’s something I will remember it was absolutely incredible probably the most phenomenal trade of France I’ve
Ever had the joy of witnessing um and then of course you went along and ended up helping this man win the vaa as ever we ever needed the proof but that was proof really of the importance of teamwork when it comes to a grand tour
Victory wasn’t it it was it was and uh SE has always been been helping me out in in the last three years so obviously I’m also happy to be able to to pay him back um and I’m super happy for for SE to win the wela and he deserves it so
Much he certainly does we will get to your uh 2024 in just a moment but first of all SEP congratulations you are now well have been for a little while now a grand tier winner how does that feel does it feel normal yet yeah it’s it’s
Hard to say I think uh um yeah the unique thing about the the vaa was there was a lot of time after it to uh yeah not only process everything but uh celebrate and and just just remember what what happened uh not only in the wela but the whole season um so I
I think it’ll take still some time to really um yeah like I said process what happened but for me it’s it’s most special remembering the welta in terms of the whole season being there in in all three grand Tours and uh yeah that way I I feel the significance of of not
Only that Victory but but everything that we did this season there was an awful lot of excitement back home or at least it felt like that from this standpoint from Europe with your success and your eventual Victory what’s it gone how’s it gone down back home how has
That played out for you yeah everybody was really really excited for it um yeah for me personally I going back to my hometown in in Durango Colorado it was uh really nice reception and and uh yeah the you know I I could always feel the the heartfelt support from from
Especially my my small town but also from the whole us people uh that I would speak to that that I didn’t even know uh we we’re following cycling where we they probably weren’t until very recently to be fair yeah got to have a familiar name in face I
Guess it was absolutely incredible and do you feel like it’s changed your status there in any way because it felt like that watching certainly people always knew how phenomenal or Rider you were but to win a grand tour is next level really isn’t it yeah definitely I
Think now it it won’t be as as easy to go into a a certain Breakaway but uh yeah um I for myself it it it gives me more confidence and uh yeah I don’t think too much about the the overall status um but it’s just uh for me personally um knowing what’s possible
Possible and we can anounce some news today I think can we have I got that right I hope you do it then I’ll leave that to you just in case yeah I’m I’m really excited to to uh sit here with you guys and and say that I’m signing a new contract with the
Team so um yeah until 2027 through 2027 so uh yeah I’ve I’ve been with this team since the start of my career and I’ve Seen It Go through its its various phases not not from the beginning not as long on the team as guys like Robert or
Steven but um yeah to me it’s it’s always felt like a a place where where I feel valued as a person and and also competitively and you know for me that’s something that you you can’t always quantify but it’s something that I I really feel and and that I feel with
This team and this this group of people so I’m uh yeah really really excited yeah amazing great that you’re staying on board um Richard 2024 marks a new era for this team once again talk to me about that process of um yumbo stepping down as a valued and loyal
Sponsor yeah well yumbo gave us the opportunity to we had another year with yumbo and fisma um and yumbo said you know if you find the uh yeah a better step moving forward to the future than uh than we are letting you go and visma was right away there to
To step up and Lisa bike uh also so we have incredible strong and good partners uh coming in and uh yeah that’s that secures a big future yeah it’s brilliant here a little bit more fromma so tell me about Lisa bike then you have managed to find a new sponsor a
New partner how did that all go yeah well uh jannis if he’s in the room uh we had good talks uh during the whole summer and uh uh yeah ultimately uh um we uh found Lisa bike together with Volkswagen is they are Pon and Volkswagen are owner of Lisa bike and
They were both very enthusiastic to to jump in yeah to to put it in a really short sentence yeah yeah you put that in a short sentence I’m sure it was quite a long negotiation of course but uh you know in the end it is uh look at the
Logo and look at the the companies behind us and the future we have in front of us that that’s what it all matters and yeah uh you know and we are uh we know of course the the pwn family already a long time because we work with
Cell um and uh yeah the future is only the only way is up well let’s hear a little bit more then have g off for a quick costume change so the big kit reveal is coming very shortly I know we get excited about that and but with this new look this new
Feel to the team I guess it’s quite a good time for it Richard a fresh impetus given that everything you’ve achieved so far this year so it be nice to have a fresh look on all of it yeah or build on uh on the history of this team and uh
Try to uh to see if we can maintain uh uh also a little bit of what we had um because we want to create a legacy and uh you know to to maintain what we already did um so it’s uh maybe not a complete new look but it’s uh it’s a
Very fresh new look okay well that’s enough of the teasing I think it is almost time to have a little look at hiv’s Melisa bike is going to be appearing on our roads in 20 look at this every cycling fan gets excited about Christmas for two reasons Sant and

These new partners but um ultimately we are super happy and super excited that we found two existing Partners to step up their game and even have the the previous main sponsor yumbo on board because that’s uh I think that’s not not something that is really usual tell me
How visma and Lisa bike work together how do they complement each other to try to keep creating Sports history I think the interesting thing about both both companies is that we really share the same values they they always strive to become a better comp uh just like our team and I think that’s
Uh that value is is perfect congratulations and a wonderful job well done so far if you can Chuck that back to yasper thank you very much nobody’s dropped it yet the pressure is on later I think in the day yasper how big a job was it to Rebrand
The entire team because it sounds like a mammoth task yeah that’s a that’s of course a big operation uh we have to change all the cars all the clothing uh but also our office you can’t believe uh where our logo is all all at like on top
Of the building but also at every clock Etc so uh yeah we are working with a big team to uh to make sure that it’s all rebranded to the team visma liab bike brand all of the work that goes into all of it what are you most proud of well
I’m most proud of that we can keep our recognizable colors uh so Richard already uh gave a little heads up but um yeah we are really proud that we can stay with the recognizable yellow and black and build forward on our the Legacy that we already built on uh for
So many years and that fisma and lisab bike also supported as as companies amazing I’m going to ask you to throw that back again thank you oh I’m going to have to put that down I don’t trust myself y as go oh I was near blinded by

Learned that you have to put VT and hago on uh pretty much anything so you have to put what onen ha have you been introduced to H SL already then yeah um I’m already addicted actually so it’s nice how’s your dut going who had it excellent thank I think we’ve got the
Microphone back that’s good Matteo I was chatting to you just before we get started here and um I was saying hi certain stages of the tour to front thanks to you were my highlights of the Year absolutely wonderful but you rocked the spring season as well didn’t you
Yeah yeah I had a really good spring yeah is that good he talks with his legs and that’s a good thing um what made you choose Vima Lisa bike then why did you come here uh I I think there’s a lot of reasons but the main reason is I think
The team fits my mentality super well um and yeah so far yeah it’s been confirmed by everything I’ve seen from just being with the team in Spain and and uh yeah meeting all my new teammates and all the new staff so yeah I think I just mesh
Pretty well with the team’s kind of vision I’m always intrigued when Riders change teams as to how much is similar amongst all of the teams and how much is different what have you find with fa Melisa bike so far yeah uh a lot of changes but yeah
Mostly I just see I guess really hardworking staff and and yeah a lot of uh really thorough management I think they yeah ask hard questions and really kind of try to think through every detail to make sure everything is planned out which yeah uh for me is is
Really nice and um really welcome I really enjoy that amazing could you pass the mic along to Ken please thank you Ken welcome what a buildup to Christmas it’s been for you welcome to the team how is it to be on board yeah really nice uh yeah last week I was with the
Guys uh on training camp and yeah was really a really nice atmosphere so yeah just really happy to be here now yeah and so why did you choose this team in particular then you your star has been rising in a very visible way and why did
You choose to align that with Fe Melisa bike oh for sure because yeah it’s a really structur team like everybody is trying to get the maximal out of the things we do and uh yeah as I saw now also is yeah they try to get the maximum
Out of it but everything with a smile and that’s just what I searched let’s say and yeah I think also there is no secret but if you saw uh last season how they performed in the grand Tours like I’m somebody who wants to develop also
In that part and I think it’s the best team to to do that amazing thank you if you could pass the microphone along here I think that’s a storm outside by the way I think we’re we’re happy to be inside right now pray you keep it first
Of all thank you um you have been on the development team and now making that transition into the world to um what is that transition like how big a jump is that no I think uh the team of course tries to make it as uh smooth as
Possible and uh yeah I’ve also gotten the opportunity to to race with the team earlier this year so uh of course it’s some some differences but uh yeah you really feel like it’s uh sort of the same team also a nice reward for all the hard work then isn’t it well what nice
It’s nice to be rewarded with a world tour contract after all the hard work yeah it’s really really nice and also I think when you start in dvo team that sort of the the dream is to to move up to the World Tour so yeah when when you
Manage to do that that’s really nice have you looked at your Ambitions yet for 2024 do you know what you’re going to be targeting um not really I think U i’ I’ve seen a little bit but yeah the main focus is of course just to to keep
On developing get some get some nice races and uh yeah learn from the top guys in the team johannas we’ve managed to pull you away from uh your seasonal skiing to get you here how’s that going um it’s uh going really well um didn’t touch the road uh road bike outside for
Two months before uh before going to December camp now so that was a bit of a challenge didn’t want to be too much of a danger to the rest of the guys but uh went went pretty okay I love this I was asking Yannis earlier whether he was
Allowed to keep skiing and whether that was a conflict of of his profession and he was like well no I don’t see skiing as being risky that’s what happens when you’re that good at multiple Sports you H yeah know but I think it’s also it’s not about um yeah my qualities with
Skiing it’s also about the approach of the team I think as well uh because uh yeah the development team is going to Norway for uh for December Camp every year here and yeah it’s uh it’s a part of um yeah a part of the theory to build
Uh to build strong athletes in general uh which can for sure include something else than than only cycling yeah it’s important to stay happy and red isn’t it yeah for sure what’s going to be your main goal then for your first year in the world tour to be honest if um yeah
When I look at my calendar I think I’ve I have got the opportunity to just uh yeah bring bring myself to to the highest possible level uh which is also my goal for the next year to yeah if I can be um physically and mentally uh at
My at a higher level than I start than I ended this year uh when I finish finish next season that should be should be really cool lovely if you could pass the microphone back to Ben Ben I want to know what your target is for next year
Do you have one set yeah I think um we’ve got a really exciting calendar plann for myself that uh we discussed it last week already and um I’m really um really happy and excited about that I think um for me one of my big personal objectives is to really be there for the
Big leaders of this team and that’s really exciting at the same time continuing my development as a GC Rider so yeah I hope to be there at the velta next year and yeah hope to uh be as useful as I can there for our big leaders the Welter excellent thank you
Ken I should ask we have you mentioned smiling and the importance of smiling we saw you smiling a lot at the Welter this year where are you going to try to find joy in 2024 can you announce what your targets will be uh so yeah it will not
Be at of vaa but it will be at the Jiro so the Jiro will be my second grand tour in my life let’s say so yeah really really looking forward to that race and yeah to see how it goes there what will your specific targets be then at the jro
Are we talking stage wins are we looking at GC what are you thinking yeah for sure we we have really big ambition with the team to to win their yeah stages let’s say uh and yeah then uh for myself let’s say uh yeah want to try to be good
In the GC and to see where we are also it’s uh there is not a lot of pressure let’s say on me but uh yeah let’s say that I have a free role there and uh we just try and see where we are and it’s nice that guys as pogacha are also there
Uh yeah to to Al see how they are and yeah to see where we are and how much we still need to improve and things uh but let’s say yeah the main goal is with the team to win a lot of stages and yeah
Next to see next to that uh we see how far we we can get there it’s going to be a big old jro next year isn’t it it’s going to be fun mat I don’t think I got to ask you what your target is for next year what are you planning
On uh yeah I was really lucky to have a good uh good program given to me by the team um yeah I think I’ll be able to at least help the team in a lot of the big targets uh that the team has I’ll I’ll participate in most of the classics
To yeah help out the classics team and hopefully we can yeah we can find a victory in either Flanders or rube among us and then in the summer I should also which is really special for me help uh help yonas to a third tour Victory or at
Least help try um yeah it’s kind of a career career goal of mine to be on a tour winning team so it’s something I’m looking forward to a lot and then as far as personal ambition I don’t know if I’m even allowed to say but uh D you’re amongst friends nobody will
Tell anyone I promise yeah I’m I’m uh hoping to go to perin and and do GC there um which yeah I’ve done in the past a few times but um yeah I’m really looking forward to it and see kind of uh how much I can improve there excellent

TR of France F the biggest race in the world is coming home yeah it’s h crazy to think about it already uh I mean our yeah history of the tour is not so long yet but yeah it’s very special that then the first time that we’re not starting
In France but will be in the Netherlands and then on the second day we even start in D the hometown of my husband so that’s like something I’m very excited about because all my my family will be around to watch the race and yeah I definitely can’t wait to start oh the
Dutch support is going to be absolutely huge I can’t wait we’ve got to start in valkenberg we’re riding through limberg what kind of a race can we expect this year Rihanna yeah it’s um actually really exciting uh the start in falkenberg I think will one of the first
Stages which is uh yeah a bit more difficult because the first uh days it’s more like sprint races I would say um and then like it slowly starts to get like more tough and more hilly and uh yeah especially the stage to venberg to Leia will be really special as well so
Yeah let’s see what it will bring going to ask you to raise up the catch box just a little bit thank you you said about getting tougher and more hilly we finish on one of the toughest Hills of them allall don’t be the Dutch Mountain out to that’s going to be pretty special
Isn’t it yeah it is um as a young kid yeah I would never dream of like raising those like famous uh races I was just watching the guys racing in France and when I grew up I started to race myself and yeah we always raised in Italy for
Example the jro and yeah now we finally can start dreaming about raising those epic mountains in France as well and last year we did the T but this year the old yeah it’s super special you say that the Jud France fam hasn’t been around very long certainly not in this
Incarnation but I think all of us hoped that it would bring something special to the Woman’s World too that it would bring that PR that aura that glory of the man’s race have you find that from racing within it because from the outside watching it I’ve been really emotional the last
Couple of years I felt like it’s really cemented a place of woman cycling have you felt that from the inside as well yeah definitely yeah the tour is something so big like um if you ask worldwide then they all know about the tour and with other races that’s not

To spend my Christmas on the bike like uh like I’m used to yeah tomorrow in case you didn’t realize we’ve got wal vanard mat ferol and Tom pitcock all racing each other and cross that will be a lot of fun but it’s not a bik cross
For you this season is it uh not really I mean yeah my goals are obviously on the road the last couple of years and I think uh yeah we found out that maybe without even noticing ourself that we we put too much uh uh attention on cross
The years before um so yeah for for me personally it was a difficult decision to to do it a bit less but I uh I can already feel it it gives me more um more of a free mind in this period of the
Year and I I hope uh I hope it’s it give me this this extra percent and on the moments that it count okay so you’re getting a Freer mind you’re getting extra percentage I want to know for what get us all excited while what does early
2024 look like for you what are the targets uh my main focus now and and uh the coming months will be the classics of course uh yeah our team again got stronger I think um yeah you should for sure mention that without will we have a
Big loss in the classics team and uh it will be impossible to to change that but uh I think with Mato and Yan per coming from the dvo team we have a lot of strong guys coming uh coming to that Squad and uh hunting again to to win
Flers and Oru that’s uh that’s the first uh real Target for myself and the team and then uh yeah we’ll do a bit of a different approach I will I will go to the jro and um later prepare uh the Olympics as good as possible so no no to
The frence um and yeah uh and the season in in the vaa and the Championships in September this is very exciting so we’ve got power Bay we’ve got Flanders the other way around of course we’ve got the Jared Italia no tour to France for wel vanart this year but we are looking at
The welta we’ll get into those in just a moment but Marine what about the Cobo Classics first of all how is the approach going to differ this year while has mention the fact that cross will be less of a focus to be able to concentrate a bit better on the spring
Classics yeah um yeah so anyway the the whole spring is is important for us I mean last year was a was a beautiful spring campaign with five uh with five victories there um but it’s also a longlasting dream to uh to win um Flanders or rube um we will keep trying
Uh till the very last end but hopefully um it it it already happens in in 2024 but obviously super hard um to achieve that but it’s it’s a dream goal but anyway all all the classics are are very special and there are not so much of
Them so uh yeah we want to take what’s what’s possible um and and and yeah with v i mean we are constantly looking for uh things how to improve or uh or what to do so um yeah also we we evaluated a lot and then we believe we have a a very
Uh we made a very good plan together and and uh yeah to bring uh about uh to the best possible shape that he can have and um yeah and that he’s ready for the fight there I think you’ll have a lot of neutral support in that mission so best
Of luck with it you and us am I going to guess correctly that you might be trying to defend your title and get a third tour to France making Sports history once again yes for sure uh the tour to France will one once again be my my main
Objective for 24 so yeah I won it now two times and uh I’ll try to to to take the third one in a row brilliant You’ been missing this guy this time though how a that changed things for sure he’s a one of the best guys uh one of the

Well but and and then see uh See see how far he can come but uh he’s our man for the future and uh uh and and the main focus will be uh to to go for the stages that area you guys hunting stage wins is
A very fun thing to watch I like that plan and that’s maybe your plan as well is it Olaf yeah it is I mean uh yeah will be my grand tour debut so that’s that’s something to be to be very excited about so um yeah with the goals
We have uh hunting hunting stages that’s uh yeah it’s something I’m really really looking forward to gr to debut does that feel exciting does it feel daunting does it feel a mixture of everything no more more more exciting I guess uh yeah that’s always how I looked
At the at going to races anyway and and setting goals and and trying to achieve them so uh yeah I guess that that’s also yeah how I how I feel going uh going to the jeto it must be pretty special as well to be a homegrown Rider and Co
Leading the teer the the team going into a grand TI yeah it is I mean uh yeah starting here as as a development Rider and now uh yeah having having some some good results in the in the past past few years and uh yeah hopefully stepping up
Uh again a bit this year you say good results you had 13 victories last year how do you build on that then yeah I mean yeah we have of course a lot of big goals in in the grand Tours and also yeah with the other guys uh
Yeah the races we go to we always go there with a plan and try to win so um yeah I’m very very happy that that also this year we we won a lot of lot of Sprints and uh and other nice races as well so um yeah that’s something we can
We can also look look back on with with a really good feeling and Marion then we move on to the Trot of France of course it’s going to be huge as it always is the biggest bike race in the world but when we look at it this year trying to
Win it for a third time is going to be different isn’t it we’ve got T ready stating his Ambitions we’ve got Remco aiple targeting his debut to of France we have your former leader Primo Ritch possibly there as well it’s going to be fascinating to watch how do you approach
It this year with a lot of gray hairs then if you if you name it like that but um yeah it’s it’s it’s going to be uh very hard that’s for sure and uh um yeah Remco Remco is coming up we all know what what Primos can do so but yeah in
In the end it’s also in sports um yeah the only thing what you can do is is to yeah to have your plan as good as possible and the preparation as good as possible and of course we have a fantastic uh fantastic group of Rider fantastic leader uh so yeah we are also
Very confident but that it’s going to be very hard that’s uh that’s very clear you and as you’ve mentioned already your dear friend Nathan van hoyon he won’t be alongside you this season how’s that yeah of course we will uh we will miss him in the team he’s uh of course very
Good friend of us of all of us but also especially for me and uh I shared a lot of good memories with him uh and also this year I was so happy he made it to to Paris and yeah unfortunately he cannot be there in the in the future but
Yeah um luckily he’s uh he’s still here yeah we all wish him all the very best you will though have sepkus alongside you and he’s not used to losing ground tours these days is he he’s quite handy to have he he is he is he’s also uh yeah
One of the best climbers in the world and he’s always been there uh when you need him you can really rely on sep and yeah he’s also such a great great guy uh and such a good bike rider so obviously I’m happy he’s there but also we always
Have a a super strong team for the to France so I’m also happy with that how do you feel building up the trat of France and you as truly because you’ve won it once you’ve won it twice we at next year and we’re looking at Tad once
Again and it’s been one of the greatest rivalries of sport that I’ve had the pleasure of witnessing but then we also have Remco being thrown into the mix we have Primos who you know so well you’ll know his strengths you’ll know his weaknesses there’s so many Dynamics
Building up to this CH of front aren’t they that’s true um but I guess we’ll just have to try to do what we always do try to prepare as good as possible and and make a good plan for for the race and yeah we can only do the best we can
And if that’s not enough then the other guys deserve to win so what about the Welter then Marine because you’ve got a jro to defend in one way or another to of France and of course you also won the welta this year as well so what are your
Ambitions going to be then given of course that it comes a long way off and we have to get through the rest of the season and in Olympic Games before we get there yep yeah it is like that so it’s a it’s a long way um just announced
The paru so we have to take a good look to that but um I think it’s um it’s fair to say that that that that se event is title if everything goes to plan um um about uh he want he wants to go yeah and
Uh you want to go Dev GC I if I if I win the jeto before already yeah maybe maybe we’ll have W was a double ground tour winner this year so should we put that right there no but I think V is is there um um also preparing uh the world championships and
Uh and obviously um um tries to win a stage and and yonas is did a very good double so Al also last year we were um yeah a little bit Careful by saying that that he will do the welta because you always have to see like how how you
Enter to the front same is for sep um so let’s say for the wela we look more in in big lines in the bigger picture we focus mainly on on the classics on the Jiro and the tour of wel TI is uh is very far away so um in June we will
Evaluate everything and see how we are at that moment and then we’ll make our final plan I was asking yunas earlier whether it was easier or more difficult to defend a title what’s it like for you Marine in charge of it all when you’ve had the success that you’ve had last
Year which has been outstanding it’s been historic do you feel a pressure to build on that do you on one level think you know what I’ve done it now this is great I can retire whenever I like or do you feel like you’ve got to work even
Harder to constantly stay in front of the compet comption I think you give the right answer so um in in sports it’s like every moment when you believe that that that you know that you have the program and and that we just have to keep on doing what we did and that’s
Also the moment that you start to lose uh uh the competition so uh I think we have a fantastic uh performance team we have a fantastic team of coaches uh and I think we we push each other every day to to see where we can improve and do
Better and that’s that’s the essence of sports and actually the fun thing about it is that that that uh yeah we Inspire each other you find new things you find new ways we have also a lot of new people in the performance team they give again new fresh input so um yeah it’s
It’s just a fun fun way working like this I want to ask you both again about the jro actually because I want to know if you’ve sat down and looked at the stages yet and if you’ve decided who’s going to go for what or at what stage do you do
That I think after about did the did the classics I think we have a have a really good look at at the stages but uh no of course I looked at the course after it came out just uh yeah to look uh to look
A bit in in the big lines so yeah how many chances there are and yeah I think in the later Stadium we will look into detail what does your buildup to the J look like then I’ll do some one dayss and some stage races like uh ui2 and
Parin and then uh yeah I think after some one days I will do a do a training camp building up to the J and while you’ve already been on a Recon for p re is that right yesterday yeah exactly how was that it was quite muddy but uh we
Were lucky with the weather so it was dry and uh yeah it’s far far from here the race but uh it’s good to test the material now already so um yeah if there need to be changes or we want to try other stuff we still have the time to to
Prepare that so yeah it’s uh it’s needless to say that we’re really eager for for that one and uh try to prepare as always 100% so what are you looking at when you’re doing those Recs at this stage because as you say it was muddy it
Could well be muddy or not come the spring and you’re looking at the root but you know the root whale already what kind of a difference are you trying to make with those recalls at this stage yeah at this point for me it’s not really about the Recon anymore because
Uh yeah the final 100K always stay the same in Ru are basically the same so it’s just uh goes automatic um but this it’s really a material test so every year there’s maybe some slight differences in uh in the possibilities in uh in the bikes in the tires in the
Wheels and uh yeah that’s why we go so early to to try the equipment for 24 already already now and uh so yeah it’s more of a material test than than a real rickon of the route how big a team did you bring with you sorry how big a team
How many r ERS were with you I think Kristoff was there was he yeah uh I think we were with almost 10 guys yesterday so um not I don’t have really clear how many but uh yeah it’s uh it’s super important to have a to have a big Squad going to the
Classics because uh it’s always better to have that that tiny bit of competition to make it to the Final Cut of the team and um it pushed each each one of us to to be in the best shape possible and um yeah that uh yeah that’s
Good that we we finally have such a big group to to go to this big races of all the races you could Target why Flanders and py Ru why do they matter so much yeah I mean as a as a a guy born in in flounders it doesn’t need any
Extra uh explanation why why the tour of because the tour of flounders yeah it’s like it’s like the one day of the year where you do basically nothing except watching the television as a kid or at least that was my tour of flers uh memory and uh yeah rub I started to to
Love it from the first moment that I that I did it in 2018 then uh yeah I felt that this is a race that really suits me and actually I experienced quite some bad luck already in this race but I always managed to still finish uh on nice results so yeah
I’m really confident that uh yeah if if luck is on my side one day that I will be very close to Victory oh we certainly hope so anyway before we go you us um I just want to know what you’re up to at the minute um with you going back home again after
Each tour to France and I guess your Fame getting bigger and bigger how do you manage to switch off over Christmas do you manage to just completely set the bike aside or how do you manage it of course you still ride your bike a bit but uh you also need to enjoy sometimes
