That’s a clipless pedal. You just need shoes with the right cleats.

With… with the correct shoes and shoeplates. You will keep the pull ability minus the danger of not getting out
Edit:
Keo is Look so you will need Look Keo shoe plates and three hole shoes. The plates come in three movement options. None, plus a total of either 4.5° or 9° iirc

I’m b this case, plastic zip ties around the back of the pedal, through the retention clip is the way to go.
That said, I’d strongly recommend getting a more robust track strap if you’re at a level where pull outs might happen. The Kashimax double straps or the big power Velcro ones with an axel moi t are great.
From what I’ve seen in my limited time riding track. It seems like most sprinters use specific straps that are much wider than a traditional toe strap. They also have some method of fixing to the pedal. Either just using cable ties, or plates that bolt into the holes in the pedal.
In a pinch I suppose you could cable tie those toe straps onto the pedal somehow? I wouldn’t just strap them over and hope they don’t slip off.
Can you ask someone you ride track with? My experience was that everyone was happy to help out newer riders.

I have seen people in the track league not actually attach it to the pedal. They clip in then put the strap over their foot and on the bottom of the pedal.

This straps use zip ties to hold onto the pedal.
