Hi legends, I’ve recently started cycling to work and I absolutely love it. However last week I got absolutely soaked to my underwear on the ride home as I wasn’t prepared. The only things that worked was my waterproof gloves and my make shift mudguard I crafted before leaving work.
So far my list of items that might help me is
Water proof work shoes
Waterproof over trousers
Better rain jacket
Will full mudguards keep me way drier too as my lower legs and feet got ruined my shoes still aren’t dry 3 days later? I hate how they look but can anyone recommend a durable but cost effective set that is easy to take on and off?
Thanks everyone

Yes, mudguards/fenders will help to control a lot of the water spray. Just go to your local bike store and see what works best. As for your shoes, pack newspaper in them and let them sit overnight. The paper will absorb a majority of the water.
Yes, full fenders will keep you way drier. Mine are Planet Bike and they were inexpensive and I like them, but I don’t have much experience with others.
