Tbh honest at that point no because he crossed a solid white line which isn't allowed. But at the same time you're not in any danger here so why the dumb question?????
You really are pathetic posting all these non incident, normal everyday road occurrences. So entitled. How can you have a cycling YT channel & not have your own bike lol
I think the taxi technically switched a little too early.
From another perspective though, it was pretty l clear what the taxi wanted as it was over the line. I think you could have held back just a little bit more because of that. Just for your own saftey.
Yes. He was going in to a lane which permitted taxis and doing so at the earliest opportunity. You should have hung back a moment in anticipation of an obvious hazard.
There is no law that says he has to switch lanes, obviously. But if you wanted to do so, you'd indicate and then change lanes, exactly as demonstrated. If I were the cyclist, I'd be keeping my distance.
Of course he should switch lanes, hes driving a taxi. The cyclist should of hung back knowing the lane ub front is going to open as a taxi lane and theres a taxi to his right. Also he was tryinhg to under-take on the left
Yes. The left lane merges with the right before the loading area and the taxi was ahead of you, giving him right of way. You continued to lane split instead of merging right as you should have done. The taxi then switched to the left lane after the loading area. OK, he broke a solid white line a few meters early but you had no reason to be in that lane before him either. So no fault of the taxi here, learn to drive
This is how cyclists in London get killed on junctions under bus and truck wheels. Even as a cyclist you are expected to observe the rules of the road. He was entitled to change lanes there, My question is, why are you trying to go through the tiny gap between him and the parked van? you are a dangerous cyclist who mainly is a danger to yourself. Keep doing these sorts of things and you will wind up dead.
He indicates, you know what hes doing, if you're not safe on the roads, its better to walk. Be safe bro. Some highway code and basic driving skills will make you safer.
