I’ve had the itch recently to buy another bike, but didn’t want to spend much, which has led to me keeping an eye on Craigslist and FB Marketplace in search of a bargain. I was fortunate enough to find a listing titled: ” . 2 – Fuji Ten speed bikes, $50 each or two for $75″ That’s hard to pass up!
What has really caught my eye is the 1986 Fuji Sagres. It’s not really anything special or rare or exotic, but it was situated in the middle of Fuji’s range and should be a good, well-built bike. It has midrange Suntour derailleurs, which I have heard good things about. It’s also in nearly mint condition, and just needs age-related servicing!
I was already getting a great deal on the Fuji, at $50, and the seller wanted to be rid of both the Fuji as well as a newer Trek mountain bike. I opted to buy both for $75, but am not really interested in the Trek. I’ll probably ride it a few times and then donate it to a local bike co-op, which is also where I’ll be working on these bicycles.
