Hey guys replacing my chain for first time just want to nake sure i measure twice cut once as it was $45 for the chain!

Below i have a pick of old and new chain side by side. New chains is couple links longer as youd expect. I then did the fit to check laegest cog to largest chainring and am finding this to be the cutting point based off following Parktools vid.

Does this look right? Old chain is verryyy old and never replaced. Duno how many ks on it but chain tool said its time for change. So i assume its bit longer than what it was new.

Thanks in advance.

  1. If you are unsure, just line up the chain elements to each other. You only have to pull the longer chain every 10 elements or so. Then you see if the chain count is the same for both.
