  1. Quite interesting !
No army have ever been built up without weapons, gear, logistics …
Upon "Objects" of the past it is indeed and for sure possible to learn and UNDERSTAND more about the past … even the the worst and bad issues of mankind's history have to be preserved and shared… in order "not to make the same "mistakes" again and again …"
    Thanks for sharing this video!

  2. First met an ex SS member about summer of 1982. We were visiting an in-law's house in Upper Franconia.
We pull up in the car and I noticed a very tall tan man with a shaved head is standing at the edge tilling a vegetable garden with his adult age daughter by his side bagging vegetables. He was missing most of his arm above the elbow, but still tilling at the ground very adept as his technique he had honed over the decades. He came over and struck up a conversation with my German mother who spoke out to him (I spoke no German). The missing arm question quickly came up and he said he lost his arm in Normandy as a 12th Waffen SS HJ member but was captured by the Americans after trying to evade them laying down in a tall wheat field but a tank crew spotted him from up above from their Sherman and he could run no more because of his severe injury….. he spent the rest of the war as a POW recuperating from his amputation. But he was very pleased to see Americans pull up to visit near his house and showed us his proud garden. Very nice man, If only I had asked more questions about his name or official unit designation with the 12th HJ.
Back then the SS were not seen as much unique in that time period, it was more matter of fact that veterans were around. Interestingly enough though he was ineligible for pension/disability benefits from the West German government, while my Grandfather in the Luftwaffe was approved rather quickly.

  3. Nice collection from a scholar collector, but it shows that the guys are collectors/dealers and have never talked to a German veteran or opened a history book, before shooting the video. The information presented has the value of a "bag of potato chips," sorry to say….extremely poor.

  4. Estonia seargant. SS -Estonia was used in 🇺🇸uniform’s to guard Nuremberg tribunal prisoner’s .1945 Ss usha, next year Sergant US😂❤

  5. I like all your videos Alex. You should do a video on how to spot fake SS helmets decals, hats and uniforms. There are so many fakes and the prices are so high that a lot of collectors have had their hard earned money wasted on fake SS helmets, hats daggers etc. I think a video in this would be very helpful and educational. Thanks

  6. How do we know this is authentic? So much was debadged after the war and put together after the fact. I’ve seen lots of uniforms, helmets etc that maybe from the time and the parts are authentic but put back together. It’s difficult even for experts to discern. A lot were made for soldiers that were stationed in Germany after the war as souvenirs to bring home. Does that make it authentic? Vet bring backs (real ones, especially either Waffen SS or Allgemeine SS) are few and far between now. Just my opinion. It would be very disappointing to fjnd out you spent 10k on a fake.

  7. My father and mother were in berlin in 1947,my father was in the army,UK soldiers were not allowed to bring back like USA were,my father bought back ss dagger,ss belt and medals.A lot of ss soldiers ditched their uniform and wore normal army uniform.I remember his things,he sold them all back in the 80's a lot of dealers here would not openly sell ss items,it was taboo to make money off of their things,it is a little more open now,i wish he had kept them,he died in 2010,i am sure he would have made a whole lot more from them had he hung on to them for another twenty years.

  8. I have a good friend who is a true history buff ! Looking forward to finding a SS dagger to add to his uniform ! Not that is great history but yet true history ! Really enjoyed this informitive video !
