Hey y’all. I tried posting this on /r/bikewrench but got shut down. I did get some useful information over there before getting removed.
I had a set of wheels laced up a few years ago when I thought I was going to do the Baja Divide. I didn’t go, and now I’d like to sell them. I’m looking for advice on information that I should be posting with the ad. This was set for a Karate Monkey, if that helps. Here’s what I have so far:
*27.5” wheel set 32 spoke with 3” tubeless tires (teravial Coronado)
*M582 Rims
*DT Swiss 350 rear hub with shimano 12 speed cassette. <~~~ Not sure if 140mm or 141mm?? Any way to find out ?
*Dynamo front hub 110 mm 6v3W (PD8X)
*Through axle
I took it in to a bike co op to help my size the hubs. They said it was 140, but I wasn’t sure if it was possibly 141 mm? Is there anything else I should post? This is a through axle, right? Thanks for all the help!

I would include hub spacing for front & rear, I’m guessing 15×110 front and 12×148 rear?
You can look up your hub specs by checking the specs of your bicycle
I would lead with: “Professionally built 27.5” wheelset with 12 speed cassette, front dynamo and thru axles. Ready to take on long distance, remote-area, bikepacking”
Since these are fairly high-level wheels, you want to attract people who either have a dream of a big adventure and no idea what they are looking for, or who will potentially want to change some things and need to know detailed specs. So you need to include simple information that will give confidence that they will work and also detailed interface info.
On top of what you already have, I would add the following info (obviously adapt to your actual specs):
I would add your cassette specs: “12 speed Shimano hyper-glide cassette, 11-51 (include cassette model number if you have it)
Disk specs: “shimano 160mm 6-bolt rotors front and back”
After your tyre specs: “Currently running tubes but tyres are tubeless compatible if you’re that way inclined” or “currently set up as tubeless, tyres have never had to be plugged”
Rim inside width.
I would guess your rear hub is 12×142. Look up the manufacturer’s data sheet.
Front hub specs (15×110 from what I can see)
Also I would include a link to the user manual or product page for the dynamo since there is considerable variation in performance. Maybe a quick blurb on usage “suitable for charging usb power-bank. Cables included” etc.
And I’d include info about the amount of usage, condition and reason for sale: “used for short day-trips off-road. Never crashed, rims and disks are straight and true. Dynamo works as new and never immersed in water. Purchased for the Baja Divide but I had to cancel the trip so they are surplus to requirements”.
