So, I have a 2018 Niner RLT 9 steel that has been great but I’ve got the bug to have the option to run larger tires. The bike has been great on the road, gravel, and single track with 700×40-45s but there are a lot of tires in the 47 to 50 range that I’d like to be able to try, maybe even 29×2.1. Soma Wolverine is my top consideration at the moment and I’ve found a couple decent deals on frame sets. I’ve also been looking at Bombora/Evasion frames and even as high price as a Flaanimal. My biggest question or concern is if I would regret giving up the 853 frame for something that is not as high of quality leaving me disappointed. Would a Soma or similar be a step down in quality or am I overthinking it? I wouldn’t say I even need bigger tires, 40-45s have been good to me I just would like to have more versatility.
I figured I’d get some thoughts and opinions from the sub here.
