So… My brother has this dirt jumper frame that he uses for dh, and after every time he’s back from riding, he tells me that the hanger slides away and the deraileur begins to bonk the frame wether he jumps off drops or just basic riding.
Is there a way I can solve this?

If it helps, his setup too:
– hanger extender (bad quality casting)
– 10 speed cassette + shimano deore deraileur
– 36t single crown
– Chain guide

Was it purchased new? It almost looks like the wrong hanger for that frame. Also I’d say the derailleur is mounted incorrectly, I think the extender should point further backwards from where it is attached to the hanger
You’d be best to obtain the correct fitting mech hanger and lose the extender thing altogether.
None of this makes sense.
First, the derailleur hanger doesn’t look like it’s even the correct one for that frame.
Second, even if it were the correct one, it should be fixed in place by the nut/bolt to the right of the axle. And the cutout should be resting on the axle itself, so it can’t be rotating down if it were correctly designed and installed.
Finally, the derailleur extender and or the derailleur itself are mounted incorrectly at the wrong angle.
I wonder if it’s the right hanger, but it’s been bent from a strong impact from the rear? The dropout part of the hanger looks too small to let a 10mm axle fall out
Have they contacted the retailer?
If you have the ability to (knowing the frame make model and year) you should be able to look up what the correct hanger is, and compare it to what you have on the bike.
Like the others above, I’m betting it’s not correct.
